LIVE - BATTLETECH 1.0.1 Release Notes (Updated)
Thank you for playing BATTLETECH! We appreciate your patience and support as our team works to quickly investigate and address reported issues with the game. Release 1.0.1 is now available for all users on Steam and GOG. It will be available for Paradox Launcher and other platforms on 5/3/2018. Note that we are aware of and continuing to investigate OS-specific video player issues and hardware-specific GPU issues that a small number of users are experiencing.
If you experience any issues after pulling this update, the first step we recommend is to restart your computer, and then verify integrity of game files. Occasionally the Steam update process can act weird - this will ensure that the update has been properly applied.
As always, if you experience further issues please contact Customer Support at: https://support.paradoxplaza.com

Fixed minor graphical issues with the pre-order Shadow Hawk Umbra skin.
Fixed an issue where enemy AI could sometimes act slowly during Defend Base contracts.
Improved loading sequence stability when alt-tabbed.

Adding version number display to the Main Menu.
Adding protections for errors in the GOG Galaxy client when playing through GOG.
Making DirectX 11 a required component in Steam and GOG installers.
Based on the description above it doesn’t look to me at least like this changes a whole lot.
Are you near the end of the campaign with thousands of pieces of salvage, 3 full mech bays, lots of pilots, and enough mechs to load up 10 more bays?
Nope, so fair point, I look forward to seeing how it plays at that point in the campaign, I’ll report back.
I’ll say this possibly in ignorance of what I’m doing, but I don’t keep thousands of pieces of junk around, I sell what I don’t use after keeping a few spares.
Which is what happened and made it possible for me to get past it. I got a much lighter 2 Skull mission.
I’m having good results with 4 Mechs with 2x PPC each. Not many things can withstand 8x frontal PPC to it’s central torso.

I’m liking having LRMs on each mech, as well as other weapons of course. Just won a mission with my lance hiding behind a mountain. As each enemy approached, one mech used sensor lock and the rest bombed them. By the time the could see my guys they were damaged and easy to finish off. No injuries or damage to my guys except for armor.
Yeah, too bad. This is probably what they were working on after the release build went out. Then the complaints about slow turns caught them by surprise after release.
Playing battletech somehow hoses my steam installation such that I can’t play any more steam games till I reboot. Temp file somewhere, I guess, but couldn’t find it offhand.
Can someone please post the keyboard controls? I can only locate an old backer’s manual. Thanks.
Fixed that for you lol.
I’m a packrat and don’t know what I’ll need so I keep lots of everything. I also like having variants, so at some point, even though I have Assault Mechs right now, I still look forward to older 2 skull missions where I will load up 4 completely unique and different Cicadas to tinker with and see how they perform together. Expand that to every mech…
Is it the steam cloud thing? Steam says it’s already running on another computer and you need to kill steam to play?
If so workaround is exit steam before shutting the PC off. This forces a cloud sync.

Anybody know if the stores have static inventory or if it changes over time? I just arrived at a world with a whole lot of upgraded weapons. Should I take notes for planning future purchases of things I don’t yet need or can’t afford, or will it all be different next time I drop by?
One of the store items is a LRM20+++, +2 stability, +50% crit, 407k. I can’t really afford it, I don’t really have a mech it’s proper for (my one heavy is a Jaggermech), but it’s everything I think I want in a big LRM and I don’t want to pass it up.
I got luck early on with a +LRM 15, but never saw it anything like that again.
It changes over time. Early on I went the long way round the galaxy to visit the Tauran high population planets. Later as I advanced and re-visited (12 months later) they had different things for sale.
If you’re looking for better items, especially exotic equipment like rangefinders, TTC computers, new arms and legs - go to star systems with research, manufacturing, and black markets.
I’ve seen plenty at the aforementioned places. The items I find most useful and hard to fully outfit are ironically… medium lasers. Grab every one of those you can as you scour the galaxy. + PPC’s, + Long Lasers, + AC’s, + LRM’s are much easier to fully outfit your mechs than + medium lasers.

Damn JP you’re way ahead of me. I just restarted the campaign because I lost Dekker right away. But I still deleted my first campaign and several early saves because that’s just what I do. I have a decent gaming laptop. I’m interested in seeing if save games hose my speed in the near future.
I got hooked hard by the game which is why the late game performance is so much more irritating (especially comparing “then” to “now”). But if the game was meh, then I wouldn’t care.

As did I. I can’t seem to play any other game lately. The wife comes home from work, I’m in the game. Then I have to feed the dogs. And I resent them for keeping me away from the game. Then I make dinner for us. And I have the game running on my laptop to hear the music.
Then I let the wife watch TV because I want ‘just one more mission.’
I don’t think that’s it. Games just crash immediately after playing battletech, no error messages or complaints. Battletech itself either crashes or hangs immediately. But it does clear with a reboot.
Yep, I’ve got it bad too right now. I’m not playing anything else, it’ll pass, but I enjoy the phase where you just want to keep playing a game.
Btw, I’d like the join in on the complaint about injured pilots. I mean I don’t know how they programmed the odds on this, but it is absolutely comical how often my guys get injured and are out for awhile. I have to run 6 people because, just as happened on my last mission, two of them got shot. Me thinks they need to tone that down a bit.
