Actually, that method is somewhat painful at the necessary speed of motion even with additional equipment. Full motions of the forearm, hand clenched, usually at jack hammer speed, are necessary at achieve the initial desired effect. Visual aids help compress the time of the work out, but not the necessary force and speed of motion throughout.
