About the seemingly ridiculous maneuver he pulls in the first part of the second video – is that really possible as depicted in the CGI? Looks like it would tear the plane apart – seems like he’s dumped several hundred mph in an instant and is somehow spinning in place. Perhaps the actual maneuver was a bit less violent? Is this maneuver reasonably reproducible in a flight sim?

Ahh… I’m getting flashbacks to Warbirds - what a great game.

Yes, I’ve pulled all those moves in the sim. What I can say is:

The jet pilots were newbs, they tried to turn fight and they were in the quintessential energy fighter, wtf?
That scissors move is bril when you’re in a fighter with some energy (speed) and the other guy thinks he can sucker you into a turn fight. Also, if they’re not smart they will lose track of you and then BAM, you smack 'em.
dumping speed like he did was extremely dangerous. It was really easy to fork it up in Warbirds, but I did pull of similar. Once I recall fighting a Zero with me in a Spit V or equiv. He was on my tail, and I had no chance of out-turning the guy so I dove slightly while I jinked all over. I let us both build up a good head of speed (something Zeros, in particular, have a hard time with), then I dropped flaps, cut the engine, and whacked the rudder one way while hauling the other. Or something. I rotated weirdly and lost a ton of speed, he blew right past, as he did so I recovered so I didn’t stall and BAM, I’m on his tail. You only get one shot though as you’ve usually lost so much speed you will have to run if you can’t whack 'em.
I’m surprised the other 109 pilots didn’t try and get some height while their buddies chased the leader. Late war noobs I guess. 2 of them high, two of them on his tail and he would have been a goner, i reckon. That being said, I also have no forking idea how he out-turned the 109. Tho I guess it’s doable if you’re a god. Once I out-turned 2x109e’s in my nominally worse Spit V simply by focusing on keeping my turn rate optimal and right on the edge rather than hauling to try and get a sight picture. After a few turns both stalled out from hauling too hard and I took them out one after the other. Ahh blisss…

While I’m here, my best ever kills: Low level flying I have two zeros dive fast on my tail. Panic! So, dump engine, flaps, roll and do a split-S. I pull out about 20 feet off the ground, the Zeros rolled and followed without thinking, both plowing into the dirt behind me. Best part of it all? I had about 5 or 6 witnesses who were in awe on chat. Everyone gets lucky once!

It’s awesome because it’s believable and people started posting it on Facebook calling her “brave” (my take was “daft”, but hey). Turns out it’s viral marketing by the Visit Denmark bureau, which is using tax money to get foreigners to come visit our fair country because our blondes are loose and stupid. That’s the kind of message I can get behind.
