I wish 15 years ago, or whenever Cher made that record that every single one of those of wobble-voice machines had been destroyed and the music industry had taken a collective decision to ruthlessly pursue and prosecute any “musician” attempting to use one instead of going after file sharers. The world and the music industry would be a much happier place if they had.

Even without the wobble voice machine that was terrible on more levels than I have vocabulary to adequately describe. Vogon poetry is tame in comparison.

Enh, some musicians have done great stuff with voice manipulation techniques (auto tune, vocoders, pitch shifting, etc). 90 of everything is crap. Life goes on.

I like some of the Ted speakers, but there’s always this vague feeling in the back of my head like if I went to one of their events, guys in robes would lock the doors to the auditorium behind me and then they’d start passing out the special kool-ade.

Burning Man - My Playa Adventure

Well, not MY adventure, but I did go to Burning Man for the first time this year. I had a great time, but it’s been almost impossible to put the experience into words to explain to people what it’s like. Thankfully, this video does a beautiful job of capturing it.

I don’t know if you have to have been there to appreciate this. I’m just throwing it out there because I love it.
