I like this SEXY launch party better.
The mustachioed skater and his blow-up doll were both killed in this classic example of 80s cinema.

seems kinda fake, that “popped balloon” that shows up in the descent is clearly way-bad CGI.
Aren’t they just using that as a visual device after the “we skipped a bunch of time” announcement?

Yes. That’s obviously just a transition effect they are using, it isn’t meant to be construed as real. If any of the rest of it is CG, it is really good CG, with an amazing eye for detail when it comes to realistic lens flare and lens glass reflection.
