Liquid-flouride thorium reactors as an alternative to nuclear reactors:
Very interesting watch!
From the comments: “Not as insane as some of the comments say here, I actually saw that happen once at a chinese restaurant.”
I wonder if Google will try to start building their own nuclear power plants?
Talks sponsored by google only, but even so… yeah, you know, I could see them putting money into something like this just… because.
Can I join the Republic of Google now?
I’d like to learn a bit more about this reactor solution. Power is fairly deregulated now - there must be reason why no one has bothered to build a unit to date other than resistance to change. Perhaps the tech to really make it work has only recently arrived?
edit: Some reactors are in the works for deployment in the next 20 years :/ --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molten_salt_reactor
edit2: “On Aug. 16, 2006 the North-American Energy Group Corporation has announced its intention to research, and develop Thorium-based nuclear power generation facilities, and Thorium-based power cells.”
Has this been posted here?

I saw that when it was on TV. Really cool technology - seems to work!

There are some other versions up of that, but the original composition to the rooster here is much better.

The thread can be locked now, I just won.
Nice. I go from the dulcet tones of the creepy Donny video to your metal canine video. Thanks for the heart attack.
