Better Luck Tomorrow

Has anyone seen this?

The reviews all praise it as the Asian-American KIDS. Looked like my kind of thing, then I watched the trailer, and it looks a bit shit.

Any word?

The reviews are overwhelmingly positive but not unanimous. I haven’t seen it yet (I will because my wife teaches this stuff), and I worry from initial impressions that its premise may be too thin to hang a ninety minute movie on, but it’s nice to see Asian Americans in films that aren’t Amy Tan or Jon Woo archetypes.

Troy

Looking forward to seeing this in the next week or so.

Since I liked Justin Lin’s Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift so much (as well as F&F, Fast 5 and Furious 6), I decided to check out his first movie. It did not disappoint. Great movie. The only thing that took me out of the movie was the acting by the actress who played Stephanie. She was so wooden. Luckily she has a relatively minor role and all the other kids are great. Including Han from the Fast & Furious movies.

I thought this was a new movie and then I noticed OP is from 2003.

Way to make me feel old.

This movie is why I gave Furious 6 a chance. Of course they have relatively little in common, but daaamn is Better Luck Tomorrow good.
