I was much more a fan of the Quake 2 BFG 90000- once you figured out that anything in line of site of your player was effected you could unleash total carnage. The only gun I can remember people actually openly complaining about in a multiplayer match.
Hated the Quake 3 BFG.

And it’s not the chaingun, Tim. The chaingun was just… the chaingun. The BFG 9000 was the big fucking gun that shoots green death.

Wolf3D (the original) didn’t have a BFG 9000. Maybe my friends just called the chaingun a big fucking gun.
