I can’t really conjure up much ire one way or the other, as long as it doesn’t interfere with gameplay. The only troubling part was that the thread on the 2K forums mentions that the player’s tattoo wasn’t visible at all in widescreen; hopefully that was just a minor oversight and not a sign that subtleties were overlooked in the WS mode.
That’s the thing I’ve noticed in the comparison screens of the widescreen and 4:3 modes, you lose half the players arm in WS and mostly get just a gun. Not a WS user here so it’s no skin off my nose, but it does seem a fairly cheap way to do it.

Yep, I was the first to mention the tattoos in the 360 demo thread, so they’re definitely visible there, but I could indeed only see them during animations. I thought that was deliberate. If they’re supposed to be always visible then something is borked.
I don’t fucking care, myself. Just as long as the aspect ratio is right – on Gears of War, the whole screen looked squashed in widescreen, the dudes’ necks (ordinarily thick) became barrel-like. That actually bugged me. But Bioshock doesn’t have that problem, and some minor clipping at top or bottom doesn’t bug me at all.
Sweet jesus, he spoiled the manual. Not wanting to be outdone, I will now spoil the box cover: it has a Big Daddy on it.
Yeah, I played it for 20 hours and my reaction to this is a gigantic shrug. It never affected the game or my play experience, and I never would have known if I hadn’t read about it online.
At no point did I wish I could see more of my character’s arms. It’s a non-issue, and it will undoubtedly be patched on both versions eventually.
There’s nowhere safe now!
My point was that nobody noticed. Not console players, not PC players who checked the game out first on the 360 simply because that’s where the demo hit first. Nobody had any complaints about the playability of the demo, or about the field of view, until they were able to see that the 4:3 field of view is different. So I really have to wonder whether these particular “shackles” are mostly imaginary. The game obviously plays fine the way it is. If you want to lobby for a patch, more power to you. But this issue really seems like a tempest in a teapot to me, and the dramatic boycott declarations are just plain silly.

I think my smiley got crushed under the weight of your iron restraints.
As to your point, yeah it is a lot of drama, and this issue has no bearing on how much I want to play the game. I’d just like to see the FOV adjusted, eventually, because it would make the game look that much more awesome on widescreen HDTV’s and LCD’s.

Woot! Got mine this morning, now Big Daddy is guarding my switchbox:

But does it need to be adjusted? I mean, I would assume the game was developed primarily for widescreen. Compare the 360 version in widescreen (obviously the way that version is meant to be played) to the PC version in widescreen:
The 360 shot. My picture is horrible, but the important part is where the hand is:

And the PC shot:

The Le is pretty cool, the figurine is worth it imo but I haven’t looked at the making of dvd yet. Is anyone else having trouble hitting enemies in the pc version? I’ve had times that I swear the crosshair was on the splicer to have the shot completely miss. Also according to the manual, you can’t view equipped tonics unless your at a gene bank which anwsered my question.

My collectors box was slightly crushed, freaking EB. Nothing inside was harmed though, despite the Big Daddy figuring being a functional sap/blackjack. Resin conveyed images of lightweight cheap plastic but the thing might as well be made of lead. Looks better than most of the pictures I saw too.
Metal box for dvds? Nope, plastic =(
Got it at Target. Only 3 left, now 2. The clerk asked me if I played the demo and commented how awesome it was, but other than that he’d never heard of it before. I think that demo is going to have turned out to have been a very smart move. I remember it was rumored at one point that there wouldn’t be a demo before release too.
Where’s the chomper dental key? Man, stuck already.
That’s telekenesis, Kyle!

NO SPOILERS, YOU BASTARDS!!! Start a new hint thread if you must. Otherwise, Jesus hates you! And so do I, especially if you’re just kidding, because I CAN’T FUCKING TELL ANYMORE. When can I leave work? 48 minutes and 13.5 seconds?

Bummer, there’s no support for non-xbox 360 controllers on the PC version. I have a Logitech Dual Action (ps2 knock off) controller. >.< It’s not a huge deal, but still an annoyance.
Yeah, this is going to get messy. :)

The Big Daddy is better looking than I expected. Have the Moby EP that came with this game playing in the back ground. Over all I’m very happy with the CE deal.
Picked this up at Best Buy today since Circuit City didn’t actually get any in, and I wasn’t willing to wait for the discount. Loving it so far. I just got the TK plasmid a little bit ago and the first time I used it offensively I think I may have messed the front of my trousers. Absolutely loving this so far.
