Are the rewards you get for saving the little sisters at all random? Just got my second batch and it was really disappointing to get some worthless hacking tonic

“Second zone” meaning the medical pavilion? If so, then you are on track. You wouldn’t have any at that point.

Yep, I’m at the medical pavilion. A guy here at work tried to reckon which one of us was further along without disclosing spoilers to one another. You can imagine how this conversation played out.

We triangulated somehow that I was further along than he, but he said that he had already tackled a Big Daddy, and I hadn’t so much as seen one yet, so it left me wondering if I had missed something.

I’m fairly certain that your first real encounter with a Big Daddy is scripted, so if he has tackled one, then he has to be further along than you.

After you beat the boss of the medical pavilion, a big daddy + little sister will spawn on the way out. That’s your first real encounter with one.

Gaming glee moment . . . having a thug splicer do a running jump at you and take his picture right as he’s a few feet away, mid air. Knowing it’s gonna hurt a helluva lot when you exit the photo screen.

I wish you could save your photos somehow. Taking cool photos was one of my favorite things do do in the GTA games.

I’m spending it all on tonics for the most part. With the camera I’ve gotten several cool tonics which are making things alot more interesting. I did have one great moment:

I equipped the cloaking tonic whenever you stand still and killed a splicer knowing that another one will run out, when he came out he didn’t see me since I was cloaked and he came right up to my face, so I pulled out the shotgun and took careful aim while he was staring right at me and got him good.

Just picked up my copy of the PC version of BioShock (along with Sam & Max Season One.) I’m not sure if I’m gonna install it and play it tonight or not. I might wait till I free up my currently playing list a bit. The inevitable patch or two being available by then won’t hurt either.

Well shit, I switched to normal once at the beginning to see the difference between Hard and Normal, so no achievement for me.

I went over to my brother’s house today and watched him play up to where I was. On normal the game seemed like fucking Quake.

The more I play the more I really wish there was a death penalty. Loss of money, loss of ammo, stimpacks, fuck, I’d even take a “Game Over” screen. When you’re caught up in a firefight it’s exhilerating, but looking back afterwards, you realize you probably could have conserved more resources by strategically dying than trying to live at all costs. It just kills the mood.

If there’s one glaring flaw with the game, the lack of a death penalty is it. It’s something that could have easily been integrated into the difficulty modes so as to not step on any (cough, casual) toes. The current system would of course be “Easy” mode.

Oh yeah, one more thing. I hate how the 360’s autoaim feature will throw telekinesis projectiles at the nearest target instead of the one you’re aiming at. And yet with it off, I hate the aiming-on-skates of a control stick, especially when you want to pop around a corner and zap a turret or something.

I think I ran into a bug, a little sister seemed to have completely disappeared from the level I’m on. I killed the big daddy protecting her but I couldn’t find her. Now no more sisters are appearing and I might be stuck now, unless reloading the game will fix it.

This happens if you wait too long before killing off a big daddy. Wait a bit, and a new BD will spawn. He’ll then go around to the vents to get the Little Sister out.

That tonic also comes in real handy for taking research photos. Just make sure your target is faced away from you, because this action de-stealths you.

Unless something changes later, I don’t think you have to take down Big Daddies if you don’t want to so I’m not sure you could technically become stuck even if the Little Sister never showed up again. But it would suck to miss out on the ADAM.

That’s just it, no more little sisters were spawning, it still says that I’m missing one sister, but the big daddies were not finding any more little sisters.

Uhm… this may be a dumb question (unless it’s something that I haven’t unlocked yet), but where does it tell you how many Little Sisters are on a level? If it’s some ability that you get later, then don’t tell me, but if it’s some simple interface thing that I’m missing, then fill me in!
