It should be available at most vending machines, it just doesn’t appear on the list until you actually get the camera.
I find that hard to believe. You’re not playing on Hard I take it?
There’s film all over the place and it’s sold in the vending machines. I’ve never had to buy any though, I always find a ton laying around.

No, I was playing on medium. I’m going to play through again on Hard probably this weekend.

I went thru melee focus on hard mode, almost by necessity as it seemed that my bulliets were hardly doing any damage. By the halfway-3/4 done my wrench was able to do more damage then my guns. They really cranked up the health and defenses of the splicers later on in hard. I shot a splicer dead on in the head with the pistol and it took maybe a 1/4 off of it’s health. You need to rely on the speciality bulliets at that point to even stand a chance in a fire fight.

I’m not sure if this has been posted in any of the umpteen Bioshock threads, but it bears repeating if it has:
2K has posted the OST for free download in response to the reception of the chintzy remix EP that came with the Limited Edition. It’s gorgeous writing and well worth a listen. Download here.
Disclaimer: Some of the titles of the individual pieces are very vaguely spoilerific.
Wow, that’s pretty cool of them.

Oh hell yes, what a brilliant idea. I would prefer it on the PC but would happily play it where ever it was created. I enjoyed HL2’s attempt at it, but Bioshock I think would be oh so much more interesting.

Sweet, was hoping they would release the soundtrack.

OK, I’m dead serious here, is there any way to get the sound of the security bots as a ringtone? There is a certain person in my life who that would fit just perfectly…
I’ve been hoping for a good while now, ever since Riddick introduced the concept, that commentary modes would start to become a standard feature, at least in the higher-profile games. HL2:E1 had a nice commentary mode and so did Tomb Raider: Anniversary, but three games hardly marks a standard. I expected The Darkness to have one, being from Starbreeze and all, but they didn’t feel the need, I guess.
I am, of course, in full agreement with the notion of paying for a downloadable commentary track. I’d also pay for a proper Making Of DVD that went a bit beyond just talking head interviews. Of course, the footage probably isn’t there to create one now, after the fact, but they could put something together in the form of taking the game and playing it while talking over it…sort of like the commentary tracks for movies. I like in-game commentary nodes, but I’d also love a full-length developer video walkthrough containing full commentary throughout. I’d really love that. A lot…
The soundtrack is great, by the way. I’m a bit disappointed that it looks like we won’t be getting some of the period songs that were featured in the game, though. I suppose I could just track them all down and then mash them between OST tracks to create the “full” Bioshock Sountrack Experience!™

This’ll tide you over for now.
Beyond the Sea
Papa loves Mambo
Waltz of the Flowers (not a period piece, but still!)
Edit: Sorry! I’m kinda on the look-out for the mp3s too.
Sweet! Thanks!
EDIT: Awww, they’re not .MP3s - you tease!
I will now stand up and admit I’m lame.
I like Moby and probably own every album, 12" and cd he’s made. So if one of the persons, who hate their CE EP, would like to part with it then send me a PM and we’ll work something out.

Those Rapture-ites must dig their music and have good DJs who push the whole album at once (<fm radio dj mode>“playing you deeep cuts for the deeeep sea”</dj>, since “Beyond the Sea” didn’t make it unto Billboard until mid-January 1960.
More period music (in non-mp3 format)
I’m pretty sure “If I Didn’t Care” was the song that was playing in the restaurant at the beggining of the game, but I’m too tired/lazy to double check right now.
