it is great, that online with randos still works… I helped a couple of people to kill Hemwick, and then someone helped me with my witch.

I love exploring the world and enemies of the souls games, but after fighting so many bosses over the years, I don’t feel the pull to fight them on my own. I’ve beaten Gascoigne solo and the cleric beast and Amelia with an NPC. I am satisfied, I will see what will come. Any spiderboss is automatic with helpers…

Yeah, I did everything solo last time. I like helping people with bosses. I used to just hang out by the Nameless King and read waiting to be summoned. I wish summoning worked like Souls here, I really don’t like the “ring and pray” system.

Seem a little underpowered for Byrgenwerth. I did not want to go to Cainhurst this time but I may have to just for the chunks.

This is a nice idea. I spent an hour today, trying out the Whirligig in 2 handed mode and one handed mode. I can be more consistent in one handed mode in lasting longer and fighting the good fight. But I can get her health lower in 2 handed mode almost every time. Hmmm. I’ll need more practice in both modes.

Meanwhile, after all that practice I went down the elevator I unlocked in Nightmare Frontier last night, and guess what? My first new Bloodborne trophy in this playthrough.

Senator Amygdala of the Galactic Senate is down. That was a nice rewarding way to end the night, even though it looks like it was a dead end with a mysterious item as a reward.

Hey man, I can’t even figure out how to do the second altar of the Chalice Dungeon, so I’m not sure finding mysterious items for it helps me any.

I think I finally figured out that Ritual Blood (2) is not 2 Ritual Bloods, it means 1 level 2 Ritual Blood, which I don’t have, for some reason.

I think beyond the first, all chalice dungeons require items that drop from the previous layer of dungeons to perform their opening rituals. After you complete that dungeon you can buy the items from the bath messengers if you want to revisit. The whole system is kinda half-baked. Also Bloodborne’s system of naming things with parenthetical numbers is pretty lazy, but eh.

Also, I know what you’re talking about here now. Jesus Christ, I hate these guys so much. It’s the guys from the Nightmare Nemsis shortcut area! At least in that area there’s lots of cover so they’re not as hard to kill as this one here. I’m not even sure how I can get close, I already have full anti-Frenzy gear on and I still died almost instantly.

Is the reward worth it to try to go back to this cave?

I think you can just run past. I don’t remember what’s in that cave. I think this is in many ways simultaneously my most hated and beloved Fromsoft game.

I looked it up. Apparently what’s in that cave is an item that sounds worthless to me. So I think I’m good on never returning to the Nightmare Frontier again. Chapter closed. Thank you and good night.

Oh hey, just realized there’s a Trophy for collecting all Hunter Tools, and that item I mentioned above is considered a hunter tool. So if I cared about Trophies like I cared about achievements on Xbox/Win10, then I would have been forced to go back for it. Phew. Bullet dodged. Thank god this game is only on PS4.

I almost did Rachet & Clank: A Crack in Time. I love that game so much. But it has an 8-bit video game within the game, and you have to have a high score on it to get a bronze trophy, so that’s what kept me from getting the platinum trophy in that one. It was a blessing really. I think if I had somehow gotten that Platinum I might have gotten hooked on their system like I did with achievements on Xbox.

I’m using platinum as a stand in for 100% achievements in any game. Maybe I’ll do it with Hades, but even that seems a bit unlikely.

That’s not a stand-in. I think that’s what every Platinum trophy means on PSN games, you have to have every other trophy. So in Ratchet, I had every other trophy in the game, but not that arcade game one, so without it I didn’t get the Platinum.

I am lost in the Forbidden Forests. I found a cave and some giants and poison and a way back to the very 1st area of the game. I wonder if it is really interconnected or if there is some trickery going on with the 3D world design.

I made it to the cannon. I think I found everything in the forrest up to the cannon. I am level 50 already… I feel I am in the sweet spot of the power curve.
