I googled Shatterhand & Bond and got this, which states Fleming is the author. Of course, it could be from a different book and this is just coincidence.
Given how good Casino Royale (hands down my pick for the best Bond movie) and Skyfall were, I don’t mind seeing him get another crack at the bat. It’d be a shame to leave his run at Spectre.

Hmm… A new wrinkle in the Craig casting emerges!
As of this morning, August 15th, the Year of Our Lord 2017, Daniel Craig is still telling journalists he hasn’t decided whether he’s making another Bond film or not. From a Boston morning radio show called Morning Magic 106.7:
“No decision has been made at the moment, there’s a lot of noise out there and nothing official has been confirmed and I’m not, like, holding out for more money or doing anything like that. It’s just all very personal decisions to be made at the moment…I know they’re desperate to get going and I would in theory love to do it, but there is no decision, uh, just yet."
Is that code for “I want more money?” Or does he think the script needs work?
Well here he is telling Colbert last night that it’s all signed, sealed and delivered.
Not necessarily. It could be that all the PR people are telling him not to confirm anything until an official announcement.
But yeah, it could also be about money. Or some other detail like shooting schedule.
EDIT: Oh, I get it now. They had arranged for him to do the official reveal on The Late Show, so until then Craig had to deny it was locked. Pretty straightforward.
Things are getting interesting.
tl;dr - Sony’s rights to Bond ended after Spectre. Warner Bros. is in the lead to nab the film rights for the next cycle, with second to continue, but Amazon and Apple are very interested now. Both outfits see Bond as an untapped resource with tentpole franchises like Marvel/DC/Star Wars/X-Men already spoken for.
Would love to see Christopher Nolan reboot Bond with Tom Hardy. There were rumors to that effect before Boyle got the gig for 25.
My dream is a Nolan-helmed period Bond film with Hardy or Tom Hiddleston as the lead. Bonus points for Jessica Chastain as the villain.
I love Tom Hardy in the right role, and I even usually like him in the wrong role, but I just really, really can’t picture him as Bond.
Yeah, it’s be a very different Bond, but I think it could be cool.
Cooler still would be Idris Elba, of course.
I’d be on board with Idris, but I really don’t get all the love for Tom Hardy. And to be fair, I was never happy with Daniel Craig either. Reckon Pierce Brosnan had the right look and personality, but most of his movies were bad and way too over the top.
Still reckon Ioan Gruffudd should have gotten a shot at the roll:
I think Hiddleston would make a very entertaining Bond. He has the right combination of suave cockiness and cold determination for the role.
I’m holding out for Richard Ayoade.
I’d prefer a smart alecky, House-esqe Hugh Laurie playing a very modern Bond who laments at everything, talks trash about doing stuff that isn’t necessary, but eventually saves the day with a minor action, devoid of any technical gizmos.
Okay, maybe I just want House back on.
