Yeah, I can’t get enough of the base game, and just played through the first of two DLCs over the weekend with a friend. I couldn’t believe just how much raw content was in there, so many unique and beautiful areas. Not necessarily the most interesting stuff, but still pretty great.

Yeah, this is a great example of a game that isn’t by any stretch of the imagination really innovative or cutting-edge, or even original, but which still manages to be tons of fun and to deliver a very satisfying gaming experience. Well worth the money, and really well crafted in many respects. There are rough spots, but overall one of my favorites of the year.

Yeah, it’s like Borderlands 1 but bigger and improved. Which sound not very original, but I think BL1 was a game “just decent” and I say BL2 is possibly my GOTY. That’s the difference in the commitment to the execution of a work

While it didn’t change the formula, improved in almost every area:
-better graphics
-bigger, full of content
-more varied landscapes and monsters
-better difficulty-scaling system (this alone makes it much better than the first one, as BL1 could be “broken” easily)
-better story, with more interesting characters, more interaction with them, and more “epic” feeling
-more amusing npcs, genuinely funny moments this time
-improved vehicles
etc

I don’t consider it a bad game just forgettable to me. Beat it with one toon and started tvhm. Then realized I wasn’t enjoying it, put it down, and it just doesn’t have a draw for me. I don’t know what I wanted it to be but I know it wasn’t what it is.

I think it was quite good but it is true that the Shift codes are keeping forum threads alive for longer than they otherwise would be. Which is a pretty smart marketing strategy actually.
