Do i have to launch the game to enter the codes? or can I go somewhere and enter these codes on a website? (I’d like to claim both xbox and pc codes and I want to simplify the process.)
The code for PC is already expired, fyi. Happened this morning.
To the best of my knowledge you can only enter them in game.
Also, annoyingly, you cannot paste them from the clipboard (only relevant on PC, of course), which makes single screen entry remarkably awkward.
I CTRL-V, CTRL-C all of these codes right from the Steam browser.
I CTRL-C CTRL V as well, but my friends tell me that when I give them a code in a steam message it appends some extra junk to it so they can’t copy it from there directly, they have to ctrl-v it to notepad from the steam message, ctrl-c it from notepad, and then ctrl-v it back into the shift code spot in bl2.
I always have to tap ctrl-v twice for some reason to get it to paste in.
Yep, this. I copy paste the codes right from twitter and plop them into the code field all the time.
Weird. I tried repeatedly and it would not let me paste. I took to loading the codes on my netbook so I could see them while in game.

Errr…? Sure you can. Higlight, Ctrl+C to copy, launch borderlands, highlight first box of shift code, Ctrl+V
It just gets fussy if you have extra header/trailing spaces.

Just be sure you don’t have a space on the front or back end of the code.
If you complete content in someone else’s game, when you re-enter your game you get a dialog asking if you want to skip ahead.
If you turn in a quest in someone else’s game which you already completed on that character, you get a dialog saying you won’t get a reward (but the other players do).
I think the state of the host game determines which quests are available, but any player can pick up or turn in quests for the host. It never bothered me much, so I haven’t explored it in depth.

I paste the codes all the time. You do have to make sure you copied only the code, no spaces or anything.

Hmm I can paste them? Sometimes it tells me invalid format or something but then if I paste into notepad, copy from there and then paste into the game it works.

I don’t have a lot of experience because my group plays consistently together. However, when our host lost his connection, the quests were off. The quests still showed a question mark for me, but when i went to turn it it said i would not be rewarded because I already received a reward for the quest. Our host, however, was still able to get his reward.
I paste them all the time.
Oddly these ones are telling me that I’ve already used them.
For some reason when the code expires I often get a message saying I’ve already redeemed it. I think that’s a normal occurrence, I noticed on the code page on that wiki that was pointed out.
