That’s normal. When codes expire they say the same thing as if a one time code was redeemed. It IS confusing tho, agreed!
This is what finally made it work for me, btw. First tap, nothin’ (hence my assumption it didn’t work), second tap, pasted right in.
I’m not actively playing Borderlands right now, but I kinda hate to miss out on stuff, so this has me doing something that feels weird - firing the game up just to enter codes and then exiting immediately.

I did that for over 60 keys, was weird but I got over it and am now reaping those rewards.
What the fuck? Tiny Tina is racist now?
Burch better not change Tina one bit. She’s completely awesome.
Cool, thanks. Now I have a bajillion keys, but most of them result in really bizarre and useless grenade mods or class mods. Ah well, easy come, easy go!

I just met Tina last night and it was one of the most hilarious takedowns of people appropriating a whole mishmash of different lingo. To call that racist, I don’t even wanna know what the fucking fuck people are thinking. I think of it this way: Samuel L. Jackson’s pulp fiction character is Tina’s HERO. People emulate their heroes.
I for one will be deeply offended if they change anything about Tina.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
Never forget the real victims of racism: white people who have to read tweets that call something they enjoy racist.
Releasing DLC before raising the level cap is kind of a weird move, imo. I’ve been waiting to buy the early DLC because I figured I’d wait until the cap-raising DLC and get all that new content en masse rather than grind the new quests with a level 50, but now they’ve released like 3 DLCs with no cap increase. So now I’m in the same boat as the guys above, I check Twitter every so often to get more golden keys but don’t actually play the game.
What’s the plan here?
Thanks, Twitter! Maybe someone can get a petition going too.

She’s only racist if you’re a cultural agoraphobe. Tiny Tina uses a pretty popular southern urban drawl that’s shared across racial boundaries, and I’ve heard it plenty of times.
I think everyone is focusing on the wrong thing here…
Anthony Burch @reverendanthony
@patriciaxh That’s not actually feasible within the technical constraints of the game, but I’d alter her dialog in any future BL stuff.
More Tiny Tina in future BL stuff! YES PLEASE!

I can’t stand that character. Perhaps there is a bit of truth to the idea that there is an ebonics issue going on with her dialogue; however, the entire game is filled with extreme stereotypes.

I would not change Tina and if she make people feel uneasy, its a feature. Not everything has to be perfect for everyone, with enough opinions you are forced to ignore some to retain some substance.

Is this the thread where we complain that Roland isn’t black enough, too? I mean, hell, from his diction, he could almost be a honky. Plus he’s getting down with the white lady – isn’t that somehow racist, too?
I think the whole “controversy” over Tiny Tina is one of the most adorable non-issues in video gaming that I can recall. There’s plenty to be offended by in virtually every Gearbox property, but Tiny Tina? Seriously?
The Crumpocalypse happened, I assume.
The irony here is that they don’t have a problem with a psychotic character that tortures people, but saying a few popular “black slang” words?? That’s a no-no!

I just have this picture in my mind of the generic white grandfather complaining about today’s youth being influenced by all that hippity-hoppity music and slang, and how that’s causing them to grow up into a bunch of bandit-lovin’ psychopaths.
