Got that one thanks

While entering the new one, tried a couple old ones reported as working again and had success.

K3K33-3W9JT-6XJJT-TB3JB-HWZZF 5 key code
WTWT3-CXSKC-9KFT3-TBBJT-ZX5FF

Not certain on the second one, as I wasn’t keeping careful track of which codes I was entering again, assuming nothing would happen. The 5 key code from Jan 8th definitely re-applied though.

Just tried both of those, and they both came up as already redeemed.

Does anyone feel as though golden keys cheapen their experience?

Both me and my little lady are new to the game and I don’t want to cheese through it.

They were a little more rare initially. But I think they work out pretty well. They provide an opportunity to let you get over any problems with a difficulty spike of bad loot drops without having to grind a lot. Like in the 20’s, and you’ll out level the gear in a reasonable amount of time. By the 40s it seems like golden keys can give you some fun toys but nothing ludicrous. That’s just my experience, though.

I would put myself a limit of 4 keys to use in a playthrough.

That doesn’t make much sense. You might use 4 keys in a row and get nothing particularly useful. The game is plenty challenging, even when you have great weapons and are ripping through most enemies, so no, I don’t think they cheapen the experience at all. Having ridiculously overpowered weapons is, in many ways, the best part of the experience in my opinion.

The other thing about using Golden Keys is that you don’t always get weapons that you like (or want to use).

Not really.

When you die 4-5 times doing missions like Bright Lights, Flying City because you can’t handle the waves of bots, it certainly feels challenging. And I’m not even playing TVHM yet, which I’ve heard is rough.

I picked up the season pass cheaply ($12) recently, and I’m finding it really rough deciding when to actually use the DLC missions. At the rate I’m putting them off, I won’t do them until just before the final boss fight, which I suspect is a mistake.

I did the DLC stuff in the middle of playthroughs, after the first; it does give you a bit of a boost, which is nice. It’s more fun, too, than if you do it after you finish one run through, which is how I did it the first time. Captain Scarlet’s stuff, for instance, felt a lot more fun doing it around 20 than 40.

The problem with doing DLC in the middle of the playthrough (excepting what they have said about UVHM) you can out level the storyline. It not really a huge deal, I suppose, because you can run through the main quest and skip the side stuff, but you should be aware that’s what will happen.

Personally, I think squeezing a bit of DLC in right before starting a second playthrough is a good spot.

You can outlevel the storyline, somewhat, but I found I could have used that as an Assassin, going into the Bunker mission and subsequent stuff. YMMV. On m a Mechromancer, it worked out pretty well. I found I outleveled side quests much more easily, though, but then I was one of those who found the story missions pretty challenging overall.

The weapons you get from the DLC, particularly the stuff from Captain Scarlet, is so good, and helps so much in the story quests, though.

I’ve been playing a Mechromancer up to level 21, so wandering off to do Captain Scarlet sounds like a good idea.

Incidentally, I’ve been struggling a bit with the builds for the Mechromancer. DeathTrap is pretty great early in the game, when it’s more about you have the Action ability or not than your particular build. He’s much more useful than the sniper or siren abilities when no one has any bonuses.

I hate the loss of accuracy with Anarchy, and everything in the Anarchy tree depends on it. “Close Enough” can recover some of that, but that’s a 75% reduction in damage for near-misses (50% trigger, -50% damage).
