Bowling For Columbine - So What Is The Cause?

Now, now, let’s be fair to the Japanese. They just got it out all at once against their neighbours.

And, yeah, as a victim/product of latin American culture myself, all I can say is it’s a damned good thing we don’t have nuclear weapons (yet).

I guess I’m just not 1337 like you.[/quote]

Nah, just means you’ve probably never read OMM.

The core reason is that America is not a nation, really… its a collection of disparate people.

What would happen if you took half of Japan’s population and half of Norway’s population and threw them together? My guess is a rise in the murder rate (among other things).

America’s only point of unification is America itself. The laws, culture, etc. Compared to most other countries, that doesn’t count for much.

Other factors are crime-related murders (which most are, probably) and the gun history of the US (western frontier, organized crime, etc).

Another factor is that America is a democracy. This means there is no strong governing force, no strong force to say “Don’t kill” for example. You have just as much right to kill someone as anyone else.

Welcome to the Jungle, baby… are you The Quick or The Dead?
