Washington Post is saying she has until Monday for a Plan B?! What?! That little amount of time! Does anyone realistically think that can be done when Plan A fantastically crashed and burned as it did?
Party line split. Never going to be any other way.
Tories/DUP voting for Corbyn? No chance.
DUP MP taunting Labour now. They really, really hate Corbyn.
I predict chaos until defaulting to No Deal. UK shattered for generations. Tories eviscerated for generations. Labour forever blamed for not stopping it.
Also the speaker is immensely entertaining.
Is that the loud guy with the apparent lack of fucks to give?
If she had done that than article 50 still wouldn’t have been triggered. Not to mention there wasn’t any political room to postpone said trigger. Only perhaps abandoning the idea entirely.
I’ll give you that she is entirely to blame for that loss. But not for the act of calling that election. At the time it seemed a good idea. Of course, nobody assumed then that May would fuck up the election so thoroughly.
I honestly don’t believe No Deal will be allowed to happen. The closer we get to the deadline, the more pressure there will be to rip up Article 50, no matter the political cost, which will be high but not as costly as dropping out on WTO terms, and the disruption and disorder that is likely to result.
Indeed. Since many of our American buddies on here may not fully appreciate the hatred the DUP have for Corbyn.
Labour could not have a worse leader for breaking up the DUP/Tory Alliance.
Where are these pragmatic, selfless, competent, brave, intelligent and sensible people to do this? Not within 100 miles of Westminster surely.

I just don’t see any political mechanism for this. Who’s going to be the advocate for ripping up Article 50?
If Hard Brexit is to be avoided, it will be by the EU granting an extension. And would the EU grant an extension if the UK were not to show some direction towards agreeing to something?
Oh Iiiiii see. I think my confusion came from not knowing that DUP meant, but once I looked that up, it clicked. Thank you!
It’s just bloviating. As I said a few days back, there are only two possible outcomes: No-Deal or Remain. In that regard I don’t understand why the EU is waving with an extension to June. It’s not like a few extra months are going to change anything, save perhaps giving member states more time to prepare for No-Deal (which I personally feel is the most likely right now).
Yep, its why the DUP/Tory alliance is pretty much rock-solid when voting against Corbyn.
Makes sense, I can barely keep up with what’s going on over here in the States, let alone what’s happening in Britain. Screw this timeline.
Which one seems more likely?
At some point soon a majority of them will accept that “lying politicians lie again” is a far more recoverable position than from the anger that will be directed at them once No Deal is implemented and the consequences are felt. Revoking Article 50 is the single most simple and unilateral act that Britain can take. The whole second referendum thing is such bullshit.
Oh yes, the Unionists, the DUP, the political wing of the 17th century. Terrorists basically, and nowhere near as near to redeeming themselves as Sinn Fein have in recent years. I think a united Ireland and indepenent Scotland might be the only redeeming feature of no deal Brexit. The colonialist Brexiters will take that harder than anything I hope.
Both Scotland and Northern Ireland still have sectarian hatred issues that go back centuries. It’s quite sad really.
But understanding the depth of the hatred makes the DUP/Tory alliance and the complexity of the Irish backstop issue a lot clearer.
As I said, No-deal is more likely because it doesn’t actually require anyone in Westminster to take action. They can just sit, bloviate and run out the clock.
