No idea. According to the press (I know) everyone believes this vote will also fail with a tighter margin and May is doing it because she promised the EU a vote (again, I know) and also to help the Conservatives in the next election.

As for whats next, Monday’s new votes might see a majority for a customs union emerge. Which would also be awful, just less awful than May’s hard Brexit.

Again all just guesses on my part.

I guess one good thing about Brexit, for me, in paying more attention to British politics is my new and undying love of John Bercow. I just love his pronunciations of “order” and “no”.

Yeah, I don’t understand the game plan here at all. It’s all pointing to the fact that May doesn’t have the votes to pass the WA. So what is the point in even tabling it tomorrow?
Is it so they can proclaim “Labour + friends stopped Brexit!”
Is it a last throw of the dice, a hail mary pass to try and get an extension (extra time)
Is it that they are literally out of options and so are just playing out the game even know they’ll lose?

If anyone has any insight please chime in :)

I now walk around the house shouting at my kids and dog “Ordah!, Oooorrdaaaaahhhh!”

:)

YUUSSSSSSSSS

I don’t get the Bercow love. I think he comes across as pompous and self-centered. I agree that he has a great voice though :)

He is clearly loving it. Perhaps more than he should. I dig him but I see where you are coming from.

Although in the pompous stakes the Commons is a target rich environment :) Even though she is on my side and I have deep respect for her integrity given the abuse she has received, I must admit Anna Soubry really comes across as pompous to my ears.

He’s awesome. I loved his response when an MP complained about the Tusk “special place in hell”…

As opposed to the rest of the HoC which is…? ;)

I have no counter argument :)

My new ringtone:

OMG! This is amazing.

I can’t stand the baying circus/farmyard that is the HoC. Thankfully we have Hansards.

Hah!

The love he gets is because he’s dealing with what amount to a kindergarden and clearly knows it. Some epic (and well-deserved) putdowns helps too.

Uh oh :)

lmao well at least its honest! :)

It seems Bercow’s move today is not to select any amendments for the WA-only bill. Certainly reduces the chances of it passing.

Bill Cash is a confirmed no, but no surprise there.
Mark Harper is switching to back the WA
Redwood looks to be a solid no.
IDS switching to yes
Lisa Nandy is a no.
The Sun saying Raab might switch
Snell a yes (see below)
Grieve no
Fitzpatrick yes
Patel studiously ambiguous
DUP no

Seems like the Snell amendment is going to be incorporated into the bill proper. Which is I guess one way of dealing with Bercow.
