Did they ever wind up doing that back in 2016 when the article was written? Those were the days. Philip could have even driven himself to the Houses of Parliament!
I think a representational democracy is better than an autocracy, but what’s the point in having a constitutional monarchy if the monarch can’t advise the subjects that they are steering the car over a cliff?
I think you’re missing something obvious here.
And as for Boris, the other main outer – he’s a cycling maniac from Islington. All he has done for the royal family is make it difficult to get around London in a decent-sized Daimler.
Published on April 1st? A wide selection of Prince Philip humour?
Yeah, that has to be a joke. Nicola Sturgeon sitting in their castle?
Holy crap! A Scottish MP just outright threatened with Scotland leaving the UK.
Edit: And now Nick Boles is quitting the conservative party. The wheels are really coming off the wagon now.
I’m reading this and, again, going WTF ARE U DOING UK?

They don’t have any fucking idea (just like us). It’s like my dysfunctional family blown up to country-sized proportions!
I mean, that’s literally the SNP’s raison d’etre.
Boles was going to get deselected, so no surprise there.
This is fairly routine for SNP rhetoric.
Customs Union fails by 3 votes. 2nd Referendum gets 280 votes. There’ll be some kind of repeat session on Wednesday, and it does look like things are trending towards a possible consensus.
Edit: consensus definitely the wrong word, but an option that wins a majority.
Yeah, but I’m thinking that a no-deal brexit will be enough for them to make good on it.
Quite possibly. But it’s not really a holy shit moment. They’ve been making such noises since at least the Article 50 notification.

Same here, except from within the UK, and pretty much continuously for the past ~1012 days. But on the plus side, the deafening sound of our international status plummeting has become so consistent as to now be background noise and easily tuned out.
They would have my support next time. I was adamantly opposed last independence ref but this time is really unfair on Scotland to be dragged over the cliff with the rest of the UK when they clearly and in huge majorities voted to stay in the EU.
Good luck Scotland, I might take them up on their open offer to UK citizens of Scottish citizenship as well.
Well if they did whip on Norway+, 25 of them voted No. Plus all of TIG and half of the Lib Dems. I imagine most of those Labour Nos were Brexiteers, but the TIG and Lib Dem Nos (who also voted No on Customs Union) are super frustrating. Yeah yeah, I know, you don’t want to Leave. But FFS revoking Article 50 is an option with no support to speak of, so either we find a compromise or we No Deal Leave by default.
Failure To Compromise seems to be a problem affecting everyone; if those 16 MPs could have brought themselves to vote Yes on Norway+ it would have won by 277 - 266 (by my slightly flaky arithmetic).
I hate my country. And people. Everyones nuts. I’m just going to eat chocolate and get drunk until we all die.

Eat chocolate and drink until we all die sounds like the most sensible plan yet!
