This surprises me. I don’t know much about British politics or the history of turnout in your elections, but I expected that voters on all sides would be highly motivated now, especially those on the Remain side.
I know this isn’t a straight-up second referendum. However, I thought it might be similar to every special election we’ve had in the US since Trump. Everything is seeing increased turnout and political engagement, from Congress to local school boards.
Everyone is bored stupid of this, including those rare souls like myself that actively follow politics.
Trump inspires activism in your country. Brexit just inspires apathy!

I think of Conservative and Labour both as Leave-supporting traitors at this point. Doesn’t matter if a plurality of the Labour back bench is Remain so long as they whip Brexit.
Except this vote simply doesn’t matter except as symbolism. The vastly most likely outcome is that the MEPs elected will never vote on anything…And even if they do, it’s still a European election. Turnout is always very low. Turnout was 36% last time.
Probably not a surprise to anyone here, but worth the 15 minutes to listen to.
Apparently shot in the head while standing away from the rioting near a police cruiser.
Surely this time it’ll work! May’s bringing the withdrawal agreement back for another vote next week.
Brexit Party is attracting the type of candidates that well, you would expect from a Brexit Party.
Fox is one of the Koch/Bannon funded Spiked Online/Academy of Ideas/Living Marxism/Revolutionary Communist Party cult centred around the Furedi family. Ive mentioned the RCP elsewhere in other threads. It’s an odd bunch. As odd as a hard right funded revolutionary communist family/clan/group can be I guess.
More overreach by unelected Eurocrats. EBA money laundering investigation blocked by, um, member states. Don’t want to open up the possibility your own regulator might be found wanting, do you?
It’s because of stuff like this that I’m wholeheartedly in favour of “ever closer union”, for all the EU’s flaws. Otherwise you just have tragedy of the commons/race to the bottom type behaviour.
And Sturgeon has officially set the stage for a new independence vote by 2021.
We’ll buy you a beer when you get here.

So is the UK going to do nothing until October?

That’s not even 12% of a plan.
May decided to distract us by inviting Trump over for a full state visit in June so there will be some variety to the rioting and protests.

Gotta work the civil unrest kinks out by October!

We might have a few more “meaningful” votes.
Neither was the Cylons’
