He’d be in whatever house they create for BlackAdder.
Ha! Pretty much exactly when he becomes prime minister, the Garden Bridge Trust is probably going to be declared insolvent. Somebody in the Listings office has a sense of humour.
Why would you want a total moron as PM instead of someone who is intelligent?
It’s a shame he’s also a thug, a liar and quite probably a racist.
Maybe the same reason people voted for Trump? To “shake things up”?

I don’t think he’s a moron. He seems pretty intelligent.
The reason though is because his policy is to deliver Brexit.
(although whether he can/will deliver it is another matter)
A vote of no confidence will occur sooner if there is any serious problem with Brexit or even with Iran.
And then after a messed up general election characterized by extreme rancour and division, Labour will despite itself eke out a tiny plurality, fail three times to form a government, and succeed at last with the improbably revitalized libdems along with snp and greens in a tortured coalition. And then the first time there’s a hiccough, their incompetent fragile government will fall too. And so on and so on…
The Iranian activist Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe remains in prison because Johnson couldn’t be bothered to read any briefs, shot his mouth off trying to be funny and fucked her chances. He’s lazy, negligent and utterly unsuited for any position of responsibility.
Plenty of accounts of what it’s like working for this useless, racist clown be it as mayor or FM.
Johnson is far better educated than Trump, but somehow he is even stupider in real life.
Johnson and Rees Mogg are what an ill educated, cap doffing peasant thinks his betters should sound like

I dunno, I think there is some slim chance that Boris can cling onto power to get Brexit over the line and then go into a general election on the back of it. He can probably just about survive a no confidence vote by the skin of his teeth. If he can do that then he reclaims the Brexit Party vote and romps home in the next GE.
Who knows WTF will happen next though. In the ongoing Brexit saga nothing will surprise me.

yeah, sadly/not sadly I agree. Boris is less of an idiot than Trump. Or maybe just younger, and has had less time for the stupid to percolate.
What sort of Brexit are you imagining here? The withdrawal agreement or no-deal? Do you see either of those getting through Parliament, let alone increasing Tory support in a GE?
I just really don’t understand the attraction: he has time and again come across as a complete buffoon.

You can tell the depth of the Guardian’s commitment to it’s so-called principles by the fact that they are still happy to employ John Crace despite having to pay out a five figure sum after he wrote a misogynist libel. Apparently their commitment to feminism doesn’t stretch as far as sacking misogynists, as long as they are attacking brexiteers. The Guardian, Telegraph and New Statesmen are all effectively political propaganda rags at this point - ironically only Murdoch’s Times preserves any sense of being a principled bastion of actual journalism.
Ultimately there are plenty of routes to no deal that don’t have to go through parliament. It’s already the law of the land, after all. I still think it’s maybe 70/30 parliament could stop it - but the constitutionally sure ways require a bunch of people with a lot of party loyalty and who are bad at compromising to put aside party loyalty and compromise.
I suppose you’re right. I don’t think no deal would do much for Tory chances in a GE though.

I don’t know - it would bring an awful lot of brexit party votes solidly behind Boris (and note Boris personally, not the Tory party), despite the damage elsewhere. Even if they only get 30% with the current state of Labour who knows what will happen.
Heh. ‘Who knows?!’ in this political situation is probably a wise answer.

Me either, but it’s like Trump. Among a subset of voters it seems to be a feature, not a bug.
