I feel like for most conservatives I talk to about racism it’s sort of a tautology or an a priori judgement that survives literally any argument. It goes like this:
“I am not racist. I like candidate A. I don’t like racists. Therefore, candidate A is not racist.”
If they were to decide that A was indeed racist, they need to either realize that at a minimum they don’t care that A is racist. Alternatively, they could also realize that they themselves are racist. Most people don’t have the balls for that kind of introspection so as long as they have the barest hint of an excuse to not do it, they won’t. So unless Bojo shouts the n word while kicking a random black person I don’t think you’ll see the needle move on this.
I doubt that would be enough. After all, examples of racist behavior aren’t really evidence of racism, are they?

It’s only 2019, you can’t really expect him or anyone to be sensitive to using the n-word. These aren’t the enlightened times of 2042.
Also, the kicking part could just be a neurological issue causing his leg to spasm. You don’t have any convincing proof that it was motivated by race. Are you his doctor? Do you have access to his medical records? I didn’t think so. So really, it’s just you people wanting to shout “racist!” at everyone you disagree with. It’s sad, really, what the state of our discourse has sunk to.
I said “move the needle” and not “convince everyone” for a reason.
Trump talked about groping women and the conservatives I talk to still don’t believe he gropes women.
It’s Boris, from what I’ve seen it’s perfectly possible he’s merely playing the part, he doesn’t seem to have firm beliefs on much of anything.
Of course, the difference between a fully committed racist and one playing the part are kinda hard to see.
