He’s always treated all his women like shit, and that’s another reason the right wing love him.

Oh, and it was obvious all along. The establishment and palace courtiers/society were not going to tolerate a black woman in the royal family under any circumstances. The sustained campaign against her has been obviously fed top down from the moment it was obvious she might be a long term partner.
Whats even more obvious is the alt right trolls on socmedia who all of a sudden are regurgitated gossip about fashion, design and household management like they’ve been reading the supermarket aisle magazines all their lives as the real reason they don’t like Harry any more. A post history full of race baiting and now you reckon you dont like her because she used scented candles in Windsor Chapel?
Prince “Army Hero and Helping Our Boys The Disabled Heroes Through Sports” Harry to their most hated royal overnight. The night of his wedding.

I didn’t know this was a thing until now. Does that news just not make it over to the States or is it my utter apathy towards anything Royal-related that left me in the dark?
You would easily miss it if you dont read gossip mags. Harry and Meghan have also more or less split from the royal household. They split the foundation he had with his brother, he shifted out his royal allowance coming in via his father and he and his wife are more or less independent. He’s also issued some pointed statements about racism and “unconscious bias”, another reason the alt right now hate him.

England has f*ed over Ireland for centuries. Why stop now?
Why does the BBC pay lip service to the absurd idea that Brexit enthusiasts don’t want a hard border? A hard border is what they voted for. It’s what keeps people out.
“Terrified” “Pleading”
Easy to see where the sympathies of the Express lie. The Irish minister is simply being realistic (the UK’s government should try that sometime - it might be helpful) - there’s nothing new here which hasn’t been mentioned several times previously, except that the likelihood of No Deal now looks very high. So what’s the point of the ridicule? Are Brits supposed to feel bigger and stronger because they’re screwing over their neighbors?
We haven’t reached October yet, and the jingoism is already spiking. What next? Invade Ireland to solve the border problem?

The thing that angers me most, is Brexiters don’t care… they don’t care at all how they’re going to hurt their own people, or others through this stupidity. AND it’s rich people who will be unaffected because they can get ahold of anything anyways who are leading Brexit. So the middle class, poor, Ireland, and so many others will be bearing the brunt of this.
It’s so… selfish.

I’ve also never heard any of this either. It’s probably the type of news that rarely makes it out of the gossip magazines or websites that I obviously never frequent.
I mean, yeah? Have you met a British tabloid?

On the plus side, we lost on penalties.

Piers Morgan was editor at the time … proving just how long he’s been a twat.
This is what happens when the very systems and institutions are racist.

I have to admit that as a USAian, I have no idea what any of this means, but I am inappropriately amused that it was @playingwithknives that brought #KnifeFree to our attention

I’ll admit, I don’t get this one.
Why knife free chicken boxes, and why the objection to it? And why is her majesty’s federal government designing boxes for fast food restraunts

Since in UK they’ve managed to have gun crime not be too much of a concern, the urban violence anxiety is focused on knife crime. The chicken boxes referenced are an undeniably odd and probably racist response to that.
They’re putting anti-knife messages out to try to discourage knife violence. But the first place they chose to put the message is on take-out fried chicken boxes. That’s…weird.

Weird, sure. Is the stereotype in the UK black people to be particularly fond of fried chicken? I know it is a trope here, but sometimes the Brits have different.
I’m guessing, based on Lemmy’s response, that the answer is yes.

Everybody loves fried chicken. I am all over culturally appropriating that. Anyone who says they don’t love fried chicken is a liar or a vegetarian. Heck, there are even Japanese and Korean fried chicken places around here!
Fried chicken should unite us, not divide us!
