Regardless, as of yesterday I am a British citizen. The ceremony was lovely and was only marred by the fact that after rising to receive my certificate from a lovely gentleman, I had to resume my seat which was until very recently occupied by a dirty foreigner.

Thank you all. It’s been a long journey, navigating the home office’s web site and forms to get into the UK, get a residency permit and finally this, and even though Brexit puts a damper on the occasion, I’m still glad and I’m optimistic that this dumb decision will be overturned eventually.
