They’ve taken it so close to No Deal hardly any outlets are reporting just how bad the deal is for everyone bar a handful of vulture capitalists in Brexits leadership. Everything will be significantly worse, and thats everything. There isnt a single positive economic factor for anyone who hasnt shorted the shit out of the UK. I expect victory for many is purely the deportation and the internment camps they are planning.

So what are the differences between this deal and May’s deal?

May’s deal kept the whole UK in the customs union for an indefinite period of time, while they sought ‘alternative arrangements’ to deal with the border. This deal keeps only NI in the customs union for an indefinite period of time.

Damn, y’all’s country is an embarrassing shitshow right now. I know this because my country is too and game recognizes game.

Does that mean once the deal gets enacted UK (except NI) essentially has zero trade deals with any country?

Yes, but there is a transition period during which the government (weirdly) thinks they can get a trade deal with the EU that is just like the one they have now only betterer. Seriously.

I want to see a new trade deal that allows everything to remain the same except that for every truck that crosses, Boris has to fuck a pig.

God’s but I despise that man.

I hate him more.

“I didnt break my pledge because I didn’t sign the letter I sent” is just just the sort of pathetic shit I’d expect from people for who dishonesty, lies and bullshit oozes from every pore.

I don’t understand why you guys don’t end this one way or another. It seems like dragging this out forever is harmful in it’s own right.

Because no one has the power to. We’re going to stop every Brexiter attempt, and they ours. This is like arguing over the height of the Trumps wall, not the need for a wall.

How high do you want Trump’s wall? 50 feet?
We dont want a wall.
It’s the peoples wall. He won!
We dont want a wall and we have the power to stop it.

How high do you want Trump’s wall? 49 feet?
We dont want a wall.
It’s the peoples wall. He won!
We dont want a wall and we have the power to stop it.

How high do you want Trump’s wall? 48 feet?
We dont want a wall.
It’s the peoples wall. He won!
We dont want a wall and we have the power to stop it.

How high do you want Trump’s wall? 55 feet?
We dont want a wall.
It’s the peoples wall. He won!
We dont want a wall and we have the power to stop it.

Another 10 or so years and most Make Walls Great Again types will have died so lets keep this up. Remainers win the long game.

If a deal (technically, the “withdrawal agreement”) is approval by Parliament, then a two year transition period begins. During the transition period, everything is the same as pre-Brexit, but the UK is allowed to make trade deals with any country (right now they are not). The various trade deals come into effect at the end of the transition period, at which point Brexit is fully operational. The transition period can only be extended by one year.

From The Daily Mash. Authenticity uncertain.

Daily Mash is the UK’s Onion.

Oooh…

We can’t. Approving the withdrawal agreement isn’t the end of this, it’s the start. We have to then get a deal with the EU after the transition period, or crash out in chaos at that point. A year is a laughably short time to sort anything.

Brexit is all consuming, eternal and unstoppable.

Ah that makes sense. They aren’t allowed to negotiate a trade deal right now because they are still officially part of the EU (and EU members aren’t allowed to do that I presume) so the deals are designed to allow them to have the time to make those deals. I was wondering why it seemed like they haven’t even tried to start those negotiations yet for trade.

This is where Brexit has lead us.

This cleared up some confusion I had regarding the status of the Letwin amendment (long thread).

I still have no idea what is going to happen.

Good thread - @draxen, the second tweet in it answers your question over the weekend about whether the overall motion was passed:
