You can tell the difference by their accents.

It is sickening how corrupt all the right-wing groups in Europe and America have become.

A number of political scandals in the 1990s (building on previous examples in the 1980s) created the impression of what is described in the British press as “sleaze”: a perception, peaking towards the end of the Major era, that the Conservatives were associated with political corruption and hypocrisy. In particular the successful entrapment of Graham Riddick and David Tredinnick in the “cash for questions” scandal, the contemporaneous misconduct as a minister by Neil Hamilton (who lost a consequent libel action against The Guardian), and the convictions of former Cabinet member Jonathan Aitken and former party deputy chairman Jeffrey Archer for perjury in two separate cases leading to custodial sentences damaged the Conservatives’ public reputation. Persistent unsubstantiated rumours about the activities of the party treasurer Michael Ashcroft did not help this impression.

The “cash-for-questions affair” was a political scandal of the 1990s in the United Kingdom.

It began in October 1994 when The Guardian newspaper alleged that London’s most successful parliamentary lobbyist,[1] Ian Greer of Ian Greer Associates, had bribed two Conservative Members of Parliament to ask parliamentary questions and perform other tasks on behalf of the Egyptian owner of Harrods department store, Mohamed Al-Fayed.

That was the last time Parliament was prorogued, funny enough when Major used it to try and dodge the shitstorm from all his MPs being done for bribery and perjury.

Just remember, the words Tory and Scum are mutually inclusive. Always have been, always will be.

heh look what turns up on google now with that phrase.

and look at their candidates. This guy is standing on a pro-rape platform by the looks of things.

In a 2014 radio conversation about footballer Ched Evans, Conrad suggested women were “partially responsible” for sexual assault.

Conrad had said: “I think women need to be more aware of a man’s sexual desire."

and not to leave the scales unbalanced

Sultana was previously Parliamentry Officer for MEND. An Islamist activist group who openly espouse the removal of democracy and replacement with sharia, who openly support IS and whose spokeman infamously called the ISIS executioner Jihadi John “a beautiful man” in a speech supporting him.

Labours embracing of Islamism and automatic siding with Muslims in any foreign policy situation has resulted in the inevitable.

It ultimately stems from this and Labours alliance with Islamism and any enemies of Israel.

and now Labour socmedia has turned on all British Hindus. All the demonising, group blame, dehumanising games they play against British Jews because of Israel are now being copy pasted to British Hindus over India. Grats guys. “Lifelong anti-racism” at work eh?

Now dont get me wrong, I have quite a bit of experience with the Hindu ultranationalists through my exmuslim communities and they are extremely bad news (an understatement, i come across those who are pro-genocide and pro-rape and murder of children as collective punishment), and any foreign interference should be stopped. The worst of them are firmly allied with the worst of the Tories. Also, the gulf between Hindu ultranationalists and Hindus and then Indians is huge. Shouting at any Indian you see over this isnt going to help.

but I also have experience with the Pakistani Islamism and they are just as bad. I know Balochstanis whose families have been subject to the worst sorts of atrocities. Similarly the distinction between Pakistani Islamists and Pakistani secularists I know is massive.

Labours choice to support the Islamists over Kashmir is unwise, neutrality would have been far more of a sensible position, but when Labour candidates (mostly Respect entryists of course) are members of groups openly supporting ISIS executioners there wasnt going to be any other alternative was there. Another minority has turned en masse on Labour

Yeah right.

Oh, I thought it was automated. I still stand by my comment. If I have to share a space with racists I shouldn’t have to keep silent on it.

You don’t have to share a space with racists. This is a discussion we’ve had before and those of us who moderate the forum will absolutely step in if it becomes an issue. But please understand that not everyone agrees about what constitutes racism. So if you or anyone sees posts that you feel are flagrantly racist – heck, even unflagrantly – please let us know by flagging the post rather than escalating the situation with personal attacks.

At the risk of myself sounding racist, I am wondering what any of what is happening in India (the little I know of this seems rather tragic) impacts brexit.

Of rather more interest to me is Moody’s threatening to downgrade Britain’s credit rating, which as I understand it will make everything a little more expensive and more difficult, and is a tangible result of the current brexit quagmire, which I blame Bojo, FrogFace (Farage), Serpent (Gove) etc for.

It might, it might not.

a) It’s only a change in outlook, not a review for downgrade, which would signal a much more imminent downgrade. It just means that absent an improvement in trajectory, there will be a downgrade at some point in the medium term.

b) For certain countries, a sovereign downgrade (within limits) can actually improve borrowing costs, as it triggers a “flight to quality”, so people buy more sovereign bonds. That happened, for instance, in the US debt ceiling standoff when S&P threatened to downgrade the sovereign (that was actually a review for downgrade, unlike this). Now, the US is much more prone to this flight-to-quality behaviour than the UK, especially now, but there are enough captive buyers of UK government debt (eg UK banks, pension funds and insurers), that it might mitigate some or all of the ordinary effects of a downgrade.

c) Moody’s has already downgraded the UK one notch, and Gilt yields are still about as low as they’ve ever been.

Rampant Nationalism and hate towards those not part of the ruling class. The Hindus of India have turned into monsters.

Nationalism is what is driving Brexit.

But please understand that not everyone agrees about what constitutes racism.

So who does get to define racism, the white or the non-white?

a page of text in defence of Johnsons “picaninies with watermelon smiles” and written numerous posts accusing BAME’s of weaponising and “acting hysterical” over racism.

So the brown guy on the forum needs full consensus from the rest on the forum about what is or isnt racist, and if the majority of those agree that this imagery and terminology isn’t racist

then its fine for another white man to accuse a non-white who finds this offensive of “weaponising racism” and being “hysterical”, and not genuinely upset and offended that the Prime Minister can use this imagery and trope with impunity, and underlying argument that the victim in all of this is in fact the white man who has been subject to lies and false accusations.

That is what I define as a racist act: The defence of utterly vile, bigoted tropes and stereotypes, and the accusation that victims of racism are in fact lying and inventing racism.

but is it “click the post and report it” type racism? No. Its a view constructed over the course of dozens of posts over a long time. Is it even a “Msg Tom about it” thing? Not even that. I dont want him banned.

I agree I could rephrase it to be less confrontational and less of a “call out”, but at the end of the day the question about Johnsons latest story is posed to the only Johnson defender and Brexiter in the thread.

Boles was Johnsons party “minder” during his tenure as mayor with Johnson whose been getting some decent coverage during the election. Heh.

and whilst dishonesty is the topic. Remember statement about the Tories wont be working with the Farage and the fascists, homophobes, conspiracy theorists and Alien From Sirius of the BXP?

Opinions as to whether or not BXPs withdrawal and support for the Tories will work remains to be seen. I’ve seen a few pundits say this might do harm to Tories too.

It seems pretty darn clear that both the British and American Conservative parties have been bought and paid for by Russians. Quite literally. They sold their souls and still don’t want to let go as they’re being uncovered.

Several of the Russians named are open enemies of Putin. Johnson is amongst the most trenchant western critics of Putin. Just some facts to mix in with your speculation.

They should publish the report, obviously. They thought they could drag their feet over it like they do with every one of these reports. But it’s not like publishing it will lead to clarity. It will just lead to blanket denials from one side, and vastly exaggerated muck slinging from the other.

China can put it in as a condition on their trade agreement.

Also on realities of post Brexit Britain.

The split of the UK, the loss of our empires stolen loot and mass unemployment in leave areas. Those ultranationalist tears are going to be flowing like a flooded river. I bet those racist vermin never forsaw the end of Great Britain and a repatriation of all the shit they stole over the last few hundred years.

A look at US far right/GOP dark money funding Brexiters

Anthony Browne claimed that germs carried by immigrants would bring “death to our lands.”

This is the language of ethnic cleansing and genocide. Way beyond mere racism.

And the Prime Minister endorses this.

And people wonder why I refuse to tolerate his supporters as if this is just some kind of college debate club with two reasonable arguments that have equal weight and standing.

Why would any company build a factory in the UK at this point?
