That’s what it’s all about.

A vote for Johnson is a vote to destroy the NHS. You rarely see any Brexiters type the words “Yes, I am willing to destroy the NHS to achieve Brexit” though do you.

Christ. I don’t care what kinds of problems the NHS is facing, but the thought of letting US corporations have any say in how your medical system is run? What kind of madness is that? Who looks to the US and says “Yeah, that’s the healthcare system we need”? I mean, other than the people at the top that would profit on it, obviously.

I just can’t think of anything more ridiculous and laughable.

They are being given this data and they are looking at it and either can’t comprehend it, or believe its a lie, or don’t care. Losing the NHS and paying £50,000 to visit A&E is perfectly acceptable because something something sovereignty something.

and these greasy squirts of piss start whining when we try and stop what is quite clearly the acts of an ill-informed lunatic.

It’s interesting to look at the trends in voting intention since the start of the campaign:

As you would expect in a stupid ‘first past the post’ election system, voting intentions are becoming more strategic and coalescing around the two major parties. Any gain that Labor has seen has been drowned out by the collapse in the Brexit party vote.

The Conservatives: bad enough to make Alan Moore vote again.

That’s… quite something.

Right-Wing politicians are so deep in Russia money it isn’t funny.

This is all so depressing, I feel so guilty bringing 2 children into this world. We are heading towards such bad times.

To paraphrase von Schiller
Against stupidity the very gods Themselves contend in vain… To the King of Fools, the world belongs.

We’re fucked basically. An unapologetic, openly racist, openly homophobic far right government will be in power soon.

The Tory campaign mirrors exactly what the GOP are doing, lying to our faces, fake news, fake websites and fuck you to anyone who points it out.

I feel like this is a particular strain of virus that democracies just don’t have sufficient defenses against. I feel like it’s either going to kill the system or will have to be purged with a dangerously high fever.

I think Democracies can defend themselves against this, but not when you have a FPTP system that disenfranchises large swathes of the electorate. With a more representative electoral system, Johnson’s actions would have led to an actual split among the Tories, and the establishment of a viable Conservative alternative. The same would have happened on the left to Corbyn’s Labor, and neither side would be able to rule without a coalition. Coalitions tend to limit the ability of crazy to hijack the entire government.

BBC coverage of the election is now to the point its producing fake news and publishing it. This is the third “apology” where they’ve been caught out faking Johnson and Tory footage.

Devil’s advocate:

They also limit the ability for governments to get anything done!

MMP like we do down here in NZ appears to be the way to go. Govt always represents more than 50% of the voters and legislation still gets passed, eg banning semi automatics.

And the very very best thing is that it pushes the the parties towards the center so extreme’s don’t get too much sway. Well that’s how it’s worked to date.

I certainly think it’s worth a try.

Nah - not at all. Coalitions do require compromise, but actually skilled politicians know how to compromise even across party lines. Those who don’t, tend to become marginalized.

That’s not really a good example as National supported the legislation also, so there was near 100% support.

While I concede legislation does get passed, what about the examples of potential legislation being scuppered by minor Coalition partners who represent well under 10% of the voters and can’t even get themselves elected other than on the list?

Im not saying its perfect ;-)
