Kind of ironic that the same people that think the EU is a German plot to dominate Europe celebrate Nazism.
It never was solely about the EU. That’s just one aspect of their ethno-nationalism.
UK Flags are being taken down.
So sad :-(
I would’a worked the EU’s “banning” of British large sized condoms into the post if I was. :D
The old joke was that the EU was an Italian plot to acquire German central bankers.

Rather than celebrate, I’ll just mark today by quoting an inscription on a war memorial in Oosterbeek, Holland that I heard about recently, commemorating the Battle of Arnhem. It’s an example of the profound gratitude that exists towards our European friends and neighbours, and of bonds that will hopefully continue regardless.
To the people of Gelderland
50 years ago British & Polish Airborne soldiers fought here against overwhelming odds to open the way into Germany and bring the war to an early end. Instead we brought death and destruction for which you have never blamed us. This stone marks our admiration for your great courage, remembering especially the women who tended our wounded. In the long winter that followed your families risked death by hiding Allied soldiers and airmen, while members of the Resistance helped many to safety.
You took us then into your homes as fugitives and friends, we took you forever into our hearts. This strong bond will continue long after we are all gone.

I’m just here to say fuck brexit and at least I can take some sad satisfaction somehow that across the Atlantic there is another country half full of idiots ruining everything.
Thought someone may appreciate this on QT3

Weird how so many folks celebrating the Brexit are Nazis, one of the greatest enemies that the British ever faced.
Although i guess a lot of the GOP are soviets now, so maybe that’s just the way of things these days.
Lol is this @draxen trolling @playingwithknives???
On the drive from Stansted to MK last night I saw 2 fireworks.
I also listened to a play /documentary on channel 4on the drive back, which went back in time to explore the origins of brexit.
One interesting perspective is that it’s basically English nationalism, which is a big push against Scottish nationalism and a couple of generations of feeling put down (largely due to the most visible English nationalists being football hooligans…) and ofcourse a large deal of confusion post empire.

The @Bojo2020 post? - nothing to do with me.
I already posted my thoughts further above.
I confess that after all the heated arguments and general bitterness I feel a certain amount of schadenfreude - I think that’s only human. I am not blind however to the deep sense of sadness many also feel from the result and that is regrettable.
The saltiness of someone who realises that no matter what their argument was, at the end of the day their side was a bunch of fucking racist Nazi scum, and mine wasn’t. Nothing can change that fact. They stood with the worst fucking cunts in the UK, I stood against them. Imagine what kind of cunt thinks this is winning? Heh. Twats.
No doubt they are also celebrating the Senate’s decision yesterday too.
“Infected”. Jesus. Not all brexiters are racist but…
They are though.
An anti-racist doesnt ally with these people. Doesnt stand with them. Doesnt share their politics, their goals, their values.
I think the correct response is anything you like, but in 8 different languages.
So where are the benefits, now we’ve left?
You get a free piece of paper.

I mean let’s be clear they are lol
100%. If you side with the racists you are racist. Q.E.D.
