I’m a bit behind on mandatory P&R reading.
A Home Office spokesperson said the department does not comment on individual cases.
Her Majesty’s Home Office is a kingdom unto itself, answerable to no one but its own inscrutable Gormenghastian processes and procedure.
Man, I hope no one there is reading this and is going to strip me of my newly acquired citizenship.
On another note, Boris must be overjoyed with COVID-19. What an excellent scapegoat.
Yeah I’m abroad right now.
They could revoke my citizenship.!!!
Why this thread has gone quiet.
I’d be stunned if people aren’t blaming immigration for coronavirus.
They are, just the usual mob havent thought up any dogwhistle terms for Chinese people yet. On the streets though…
Worried Brit: “how will I survive on £94 sick pay”
Tory scum MP: “Get a life”
There are too many unused lamp posts.
Go for it Stanley, and no doubt all the Tories who admire you and your squirming verminous maggot of a son (but not Jo, he has morals) will think its fine to go to the pub too. Why don’t they all play Spittymouth whilst they are there.
It would be monumentally stupid to press ahead with Brexit for the time being.
At least some people arent monumentually stupid.
Unlike the Foreign Secretary
I’ll be at the daily executions even if it risks getting sick
There isn’t a reality where Johnson and Co dying won’t improve the lives of… everyone.
Well, with all the borders closed as they are, main reason for Brexit is gone just like that, no point going on with it, gotta wait until all the Euros regains the ability to reach the shores of Blighty?
I’m seeing an opportunity here for the country to rally, and effect some real, impactful changes, reducing our supply change for example and using more local produce.
Doubt it’ll happen though.
I’m arriving at Gatwick soon.
I’m a bit nervous now.
I haven’t been this nervous since the week before I deployed to Afghanistan. :0
I see it as an opportunity for the Tories to use shock doctrine to fuck us over even more.

Why? London is a paradise right now. Walked to work from Waterloo, it’s like I was going in to the office on a sunday. The train carriages had maybe 5-10 people each, no crowds at the station, wide open sidewalks in a clear sky. Soon I expect I’ll see deer prancing across the street.
We’ll be getting our network boxes to work from home shortly, that’s when the hell begins, if schools close, two bored and disappointed kids clambering and fighting and whining while I’m trying to put in eight hours in a cramped living room with computer gear and wires fighting for space with Duplo and train tracks.
When I flew from the UK to JFK on Monday it was the smoothest entry to the US I’ve ever had. Crazy world.
All the CBP people had abandoned their posts?
Because I naively assumed people would be taking this at least half as seriously as the Spanish.
(Also because I’ve had to leave my gf behind on her own.)
Instead, it’s almost like no-one is remotely fussed.
No containment procedures in shops etc, and when you arrive at the airport, some half hearted posters saying “if you display the following symptoms, you should stay at home.”
I’m honestly gobsmacked by how unseriously people seem to be acting on the streets.
All the more odd as I left the day the 1st person died of Corona virus.
Not long ago.
And now the UK death toll is 104.
1 to 104 in ten or so days.
Edit: obviously some businesses are getting hit, but again nothing like as bad as what is happening to Spain it seems.
All their hotels will close next Tuesday onwards.
Incidentally, in the UK they are proposing legislation to stop evictions over the next 3 months.
If I were a tenant I’d just stop paying for those 3 months, regardless of income, and I’m sure some people are already making that same calculation.
