Settled status is removed if you leave for more than 5 years so it is second class citizens. Any old gangster who’s been on the Costa Del Crime for the last 30 years can come back without an issue.
The city will put some pressure but I don’t think that’s the focus of the brexiteers. if it had been FS would have been in the Bojo Withdrawal Agreement as it was in the May.
The unfortunate reality is they are far more interested in the dodgy side of FS that has become the focus of many of the hedge funds and sleight of hand deals.
EU regulation of FS is something is an anathema to them. They’re more interested in the ability to hide Oligarchs’ money and take fees from it.
Rees-Mogg, John Redwood, Tice, Farage & Aaron Banks are all have heavily involved in ‘tax efficient’ offshore investments that don’t like to be examined too closely.
And now don’t have to declare them like EU laws would have required them to do as of January 1st of this year… Coincidence? I think not…

WRONG.
You have now twice spread nationalistically driven untruths about COVID. You should have a good hard think about that.

What a disgusting thing to claim. What the fuck is wrong with you?
I have spread no mistruths about Covid, that is just an outright lie. And I don’t have any nationalistic angle here. I haven’t even been a resident of an EU country for almost 15 years.

I wonder if India would be keen?

I can’t think of any reason Australia or New Zealand would have a problem making their troops available to the British!
God save the Queen!
The fascist regime,
They made you a moron.
The Sex Pistols were Prophets I tell you.
“No thanks, we prefer partners who don’t leave alliances”.
And none of them can really project any power. How are they supposed to aid one another?
They’ve got some wicked batsmen, though.

Sadly there are many morons in AU and NZ that really would have no issue.
Not that this needs to be taken seriously (because look who’s proposing it), but it’s just pure right-wing military-nationalistic fetishism. So revealing that their big fantasy here is how the “alliance” becomes the “third most powerful” country in the world… for however long that lasts. It serves no other purpose beyond that, since CANZUK trade is an order of magnitude less than the trade the UK does/did with the EU.
Isn’t this really the fap-fap end dream for a lot of the Leave side anyway? A return to “the sun never sets on the British empire” bullshit when those darkies knew their place?
(edited to change sound effect)
How do you follow the fever dream that produced a train wreck that is Brexit, well of course with another fever dream, this time about empire.
3rd most powerful because of the £110,000,000 expenditure!
Now is that per day? Article doesn’t say.
To be fair this new alliance will only cost a small fraction of the £200M pounds saved by leaving the EU.
But that is money set aside for the NHS…
oh, wait.

I do love how Brexiteers claim both that ‘everybody knew what they were voting for’ and that nobody voted for anything that is inconvenient to them. It’s just indicative of the doublethink and fantasy that surrounds so much on Brexit.
