Just for reference, those of us who spend all our time complaining about Iraq don’t want us to lose. I know, I know, it’s hard to believe, but if we had to pick between Bush losing the next election and a stable, happy democracy in Iraq, we’d pick Iraq. We really do think he’s fucking it up; we’re not trying to score political points. The crowd in charge just appears to have no idea what they’re doing, being more obsessed with strutting around and insulting the Europeans than winning.
Back to your regularly scheduled yelling.

Hasn’t this ‘mismanagement’ already been determined to be the underreporting of our coveted media outlets? It won’t take long for the right-wing-conspiracy to leak successes and general goodwill from ordinary Iraqis to sway the impressions of the American people.
Hasn’t this ‘mismanagement’ already been determined to be the underreporting of our coveted media outlets?
By who? A few shrill conservative commentators and a USA Today reporter playing devil’s advocate?
When you have to shriek “media bias” and cite anecdotal evidence, your argument is hopelessly adrift in a sea of desperation.
The argument with the mainstream media is not that they are reporting problems, shortcomings, mistakes and tragedies where none exist, it is that to listen/read most major news sources, one would assume that is all that exists. This is irresponsible and reprehensible.
What kind of stories aren’t we hearing?
“Today, renowned game journalist Mark Asher played another hour of EverQuest and enjoyed it greatly. His wife and kids are well, and he expects no trouble or unusual events in the foreseeable future.”
We need more news like this! Stop the endless disaster reporting!
