I’m thinking of doing a build for the 4xxx series and giving my 3080/5900x system to my kid (who is gaming on a laptop with a 1060). I built it for hybrid work/gaming, but the kid can use something modern-ish while building up savings.
I just worry about availability and pricing when those come out so I may go the pre-built route this time. They seemed to be the most reliable way to get new hardware, but then it’s a question of markup and how selective I can be with the components.
