While looking for dissection pictures of the Wii component cable in hopes of finding the pin configuration, I managed to come across this:

This mod is so painfully easy that I’m aghast at the $30 price tag. There’s no conversion electronics in the cable – it’s just a straight up pin-to-wire setup. Of course, I’d go the more elegant route of soldering the leads to the appropriate pin slot on the composite connector, but that’s just me. Anyway, I know what I’m doing tonight. So don’t wait 3 weeks till Nintendo has them in stock, and absolutely don’t pay $150 for them on eBay – not when making your own is a mere 20 minute hack job.
