JhohCreexul, next time post a warning that these aren’t safe for work, as well as how graphic they are. These are disturbing and disgusting, and I’d rather have known this beforehand.
“What type of work enivronment is there where you can’t look at THE NEWS? These are like AP photos.”
Yeah I wonder what the deal is.
Anyway I thought I’d just let you guys know that these pics are in fact safe for work. I don’t know why you didn’t know that, but apparently you just didn’t, but I am letting you know something you previously never before knew.
So here is a big “you’re welcome” for the big “thank you” that you owe me.
Carbon Unit (9:20:53 PM): THIS IS SERIOUS
Carbon Unit (9:20:55 PM): HOW COULD YOU
Jhoh Cable (9:22:05 PM): Pounding their fists on their desks.
Carbon Unit (9:23:10 PM): don’t you understand this is a matter of life and death?
Jhoh Cable (9:32:08 PM): What if an innocent child wandered into the Qt3 land and then saw the pictures and jumped into one of them and was trampled to death by the crowd?
Carbon Unit (9:33:01 PM): HOW WOULD YOU FEEL THEN MR JOHN “JHOH” “CREEXUL” CABLE?!?!?
Jhoh Cable (9:33:10 PM): I would be very upset. ;_;
Carbon Unit (9:34:30 PM): I SAW THAT AT WORK AND MY BOSS FIRED ME AND THEN I WAS GANG RAPED BY A PACK OF GAY PUERTO RICANS AND I LOVED IT
I don’t know where the hell you work. Body parts are awesome, true, but not safe for work. The fact that they come from a press cameraman as opposed to, uh, someone else with a camera doesn’t appear to impress some peoples’ bosses.
And why is this not in the EE section? (not trying to be the next forum cop, but if your going to post something like that in here, have some argument to back it up)
Jhoh, I’ve got nothing against you (hell, I hadn’t even heard of you until recently), but you’ve got to put some NSFW tag on those. Even at my work (and I and the people I work with view body parts much worse than those on a regular basis) I’d kick someones ass for viewing that on my network.
If it was a SIMULATED body part (like a screenshot of the robotic hand in Wayne’s World) would it be the same? Is the job market so volitile that people would be fired just for anything even close to an arm that looked like it might not be on a body?
Also, this is both political and religious. How much of an argument could you possibly need to prove something that proves itself, I don’t know.
Yep, and I’ve got a nice little app that tells me what and when anyone has downloaded an unapproved app or image. And because it’s in my job description to repremand or recommend that they be fired for viewing unapproved content, I’d most certainly do it, and have had to. What people do on their own time and own bandwith dollar is their own business, but on the network I’m responsible for and the bandwidth that comes out of my budget I’m paid to care about.

Nope on both counts (acutally, it’s pretty non-volitle in my line of work). However, because I’m not the only one that makes the rules on this at my work (myself and a committee of nurses and surgical techs make them), they are comfortable and well acquanted with the use rules at my work, and they know what bends and breaks them. I’m a laid back guy. I don’t like to get on people for breaking rules (who does?). But give people the oppertunity to know that these links might not be safe at their work environment (which, as any admin would probably tell you, is when most surfing happens)

All I see are pics of (what appears to be) people in the Middle East pulling body parts out of a car, as well as a funeral procession (I guess). What is the context? Did terrorists do this? Did Americans? Did Cthulhu? What is your argument?
Since I’m also not working, maybe you should fire me too. :(

I must’ve left my thesis on the state of the middle east in the mirror universe that I accidentally ended up in from a transporter/wormhole accident.

So does that mean we need to start marking every image as NSFW?
This is what someone always tells you before letting you know that you broke some petty rule. No one likes enforcing rules more than network admins. It’s second only to “I have black friends, so I can say this…”
