I find the mail spam annoying, but thinking about more about it, I see why they do it.
Some random guy I friended after a PUG messaged me last night, asking how I found enough missions to get from 22-25. Now, I’d found them a variety of ways, largely looking around and stumbling upon them, but (belatedly!) I found the “Emergency” missions via the crime computer reliably link you into new quest chains.
So I told him about this, and it seems he hadn’t been aware of it. I imagine there are a bunch of people who did follow the messages, and so as a result didn’t hit content gaps (I have yet to).
Nice! I too want to hear the horror stories – so I can pick those minions for my Nemesis!
Incidentally, chain rooting doesn’t work. Breaking free gives you substantial root resistance, and being attacked helps you break out as well. I tried a variety of chain root angles in the Power House with a buddy, and it goes nowhere. For best effect you have to alternate roots, holds, and knockback.
You could get chain held, but I believe only with Tazer Arrow, which according to the patch notes should be fixed?

It might have been been before they added those in. Getting rooted frequently sucks too though.

Pictures explain it all really…

Anyone having any problems getting on?
I seem to be stuck on “Retrieving list of characters.”
Nice Villain!
[Edit]Yeah, my son was just playing, and got booted out. Can’t get back in.

Yeah same mordrak. Another thing that pisses me off about champion online’s launcher is there is no way to stop trying to connect after pushing the login button other than to force close it.
If someone knows daeke’s twitter address, he probably posted an update on it there…

Booo. I had just gotten done making The Bionic Babe too. She’s a cheerleader that suffered a fatal fall trying what would have been a unique stunt putting her in the cheer history books*, but because of her exceptional physique the federal government fast tracked what was left of her into a bionic super soldier program.
*She still is in the history books, but because of the gruesome results. Heh. And yes, she’s basically a cheer leading Robocop.
Edit: If you’re killing time, be sure to vote in the poll for new content. I’m a little disappointed in the results because I think could really use some more early, cleaning up the neighborhood city oriented super hero content as well as diabolical plots in city environments (zombies are always good!). The former would be for filling content gaps and giving people alternate content to play rather than the same stuff for every character and the latter would be more mid to high end content.

It annoys me that cryptic is so half-ass about lots of things. Their version of armory is quite cool and has lots of nice features, but not only does it not work as much as it does, it doesn’t want to believe most of my characters exist. It must be updated once a month or something.

I just got done making The Terrible Towel… Hope at least the costume ‘saves’ saved…

The costume saves are local, apparently using stenography to encode all your choices in a .jpg in Champions’ screenshots dir – i.e. the .jpg you posted right there, which I believe anyone can use to load the same costume.

If you’re going to make a Munitions character, you pretty much have to make this one.

It was unfortunately impossible to do a really good tunic. Source:

One of the military tops has buttons that might work, that plus the closed trench bottom under skirts might work.

Nice Lum!
Yeah i seem to recall the one moore is talking about as well.

I tried the military tops, but they didn’t work as well.

Yeah, the trench top does a good closed suit jacket. If you dye the buttons the same colors as the coat, it might get the look you want.

Nemesis:

Ninjas! I guess all CO ninjas are around 6ft tall, making my 5’7’ish nemesis seem short in comparison.

Single sword looks quite nice in motion, but like with the pistol moves, it is hard to capture a good shot of it.
The first nemesis mission was quite easy. It was a 25 mission with me being 25 and this is after i’ve been doing +2-4 missions for the past 12 or so levels. If my sniper rifle crit (i’m dex/ego stacking dex for LR so often), it would take a villain down to 50% which says a lot. I hope the next face off against her is more challenging.

Does anyone know if the height slider is constant? If you change the length of your legs, will it still scale you to 6 ft? That’s the problem with listing the height on the bar, they should just have a height bar with the feet listed next to the character display so you can compare.

What’s the consensus on the story? John “I wrote fucking Chew which is fucking awesome” Layman wrote it, so I’m curious.
