China Mountain Zhang

How have I missed this SF book for so long? It has all the elements I like: SF, homosexuality and the replacement of the US as world hegemone by Socialist Utopia China.
Okay, the fact that it’s from 1992 might explain that.

This book was really in the vein of “why SF is good and fantasy is silly”-thread from a while back. It was down-to-earth (or Mars, now and then) and full of well-drawn characters. My criticism would, if anything, be that it wasn’t strange enough.

This has been sitting on my Amazon wishlist for a few years now, maybe I should get around to picking it up.

She’s a very good writer, I would recommend pretty much all of her work.
