I’m playing around with one of the new Razer Blade 15.6 laptops (144Hz 1080P, 6 core i7, 1070 Max-Q), and probably the most surprising thing I’ve experienced is that Edge smokes Chrome in general usability, because Chrome drops frames like a 2014 Android device. Scrolling with Edge is sublime on the 144Hz display – it’s like a bigger, smoother iPad Pro, and a huge pleasure to read on. Chrome seriously pales in comparison, to the point where I have stopped launching it.
What gives? Are there any performance tweaks to get Chrome to keep up with the display refresh rate while scrolling?
