Churchill wanted to bomb Germany with anthrax?

I missed this one when it came out. I’m reading Mike Davis’s Dead Cities, and he claims Churchill had a plan to carpet-bomb Germany with anthrax.

I can’t find much about it outside of recursive discussions of the book; anyone have more details?

I’ve heard about it. It was supposed to be an anti-agriculture weapon, killing livestock, rather than directly an anti-personnel weapon. Churchill planned it when things were going badly for Britain as kind of a desperation ploy.

Dead Cities is all kinds of awesome. While shift6 and I were in LA, I told Tom to pick it up. I don’t know if he has or not. True story!
