I just got Tales of Phantasia and FFIV for around $19.00 with tax. If you’re interested, move quickly as the more popular titles get snatched up quickly.
Seriously? Did you just check the price tags or did they ring up at full price? When I was at CC, there was no discount price stickers on the games or on the shelves, but the titles still rang up for $8.98.
Thanks for the heads up, Andrew. Was able to grab Tales of Phantasia. And, yeah, it was still marked at full price on the sticker but rang up for $8.98.
Also able to snag a copy of Time Splitters: Future Perfect for $8.98 and it’s the first time I’ve seen the game less than $40 since it came out.
I was hoping to snag Kirby and the Amazing Mirror (hear it’s a pretty good GBA platformer) and Lunar (yeah, I know it sucks but I might be able to get enough enjoyment to justify this price) but no luck on those two. I’ll be going by a different CC tomorrow morning and will check out what they have.
holy shit! did they have most of the stuff in stock? i could easily see myself dropping $100+. I was just searching the internet today for cheap DS/GBA games, glad I didn’t buy anything.
Score! Snagged Tales of Phantasia & Sigma Star Saga for GBA, and Ult. Spider-Man, Pac-n-Roll, Trace Memory, and Spyro & Spongebob for the kids.
BUT…you almost have to get there within hours of news hitting the net to get the good stuff, with all the flippers out there looking to turn a few bucks on eBay.
I’ve taken advantage of a few other Circuit City game “sales,” and they never mark down the copies on the shelves. You always have to play Price Check—The Game with whatever poor sucker is manning the register: “OK, here’s twenty titles. I’ll take any of them that ring up for less than $10! You can just reshelve the others, OK?”
Apparently the sale also includes PS2 and Xbox games. Here’s the full list. If I can sneak away from work, I’m going to try and pick up Half Life 2 and Wild Arms 4.

I just got back. The DS games I wanted were gone, but I picked up Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, FF4, Drill Dozer, and Wario ware for a total sum of around $35. Not too shabby.
