I think I’m going to have to work until midnight today, so can do nothing but dream about the copy of Civ waiting patiently for me inside Steam. At least busy hell days tend to pass quickly. I’ll be too knackered to play anything when I get home anyway.

If you wanted to rush a key wonder and didn’t have the gold necessary on a given turn to complete it, wouldn’t the “5 gold over 10 turns for 36 gold” be worth it if it netted you that wonder before someone else got it? It has nothing to do with the AI not understanding basic math as the reviewer stated.

Exactly. The AI is essentially offering you a loan at an interest rate of 4% per turn (that’s simple interest; I’m not going to do the math for compound). The reviewer just doesn’t understand basic economics.

Yeah, it was basically offering him a loan. Which is kind of neat, actually, and something that real-world nations do for each other all the time.

My validation seemed to be stuck at 20%, and then completed (I think)… but now it’s pulling down a 1 GB patch. No Civ 5 sneak peek before work for me then. :(
