Well, good teams have a backup QB. :)

But I’m also pissed that Saban is going to win.

It’s been a hard year for the three pretty boy quarterbacks that entered the season as Heisman favorites. Tebow was in tears but now it’s looking like he’ll be the only one coming out on top, even after that huge concussion.

On a related note, I also don’t get the Dave Matthews Band love either.

Cool new Book of Eli commercial though.

Plus McCoy might have been able to convert those first two opportunities Texas had into touchdowns rather then field goals, which would have likely forced Alabama to change their offensive game plan.

It’s too bad. Sure, Alabama was likely going to win either way. But even if I was a Tide fan, I’d have wished this win would have been against a healthy McCoy. Instead, once he went down it was really really unlikely that it would end up much of a game.

All that build up and practice to get there and then you are done on your first drive. Sucks balls.

You think Urban lets Tebow be on top?

jerri, my dad, my brother in law and my nephew all played first trumpet for the Tennessee Pride of the Southland Band, my nephew is graduating this spring. I still have no desire to watch the marching bands at halftime on television, though they are a good distraction at halftime when you are in the stadium.

I still call them all band geeks, heh.

I just tuned in. Holy crap, Texas’ backup QB is a true freshman? That’s a tiny bit of pressure.

Marching bands mostly sound like shit on TV. If you’re gonna watch a band, in-person is the way to do it.

And band geeks is better than “band fags,” which is what we got in HS. :)

One of the most tiresome and arrogant comments I heard before the SEC game (probably way early in the season too, pfft) was some Alabama fan saying they wanted Florida at full strength with no injuries or people out, just so there’d be no excuses. It’s as if the last decade of irrelevance never happened, and they were ready to go with the casual loftiness.

Don’t you hate it when cocky people end up being right? :)

Have you watched Alabama this year? They pretty much have one game plan, no matter the score. Sometimes they get lucky and win, sometimes they win easy, but they pretty much do the same thing every game.

Yeah, even apart from the whole “BCS isn’t a championship” argument, this game is always going to have an asterisk beside it in a lot of people’s minds: how would it have gone if Dolt Annoy had stayed healthy?

Sure points out the danger in a) designing your entire offense around your quarterback, and b) designing any offense around a single player.

ZINnngg…! ehhhhhhh…

Power bottom, duh.

Please do not speak of irrelevance as a Gator fan. Until 1990 Florida was an afterthought, if that. They’ve had one hell of a run lately, but so did Miami and FSU, and where are they now?

wink

More than everyone else in this thread combined, I’ve enjoyed pointing out the cyclical nature of football to people that hang their hats on what is really statistical insignificance and a short-term memory. But in any case, I guess you had to be there for the comment to sink in.

That apostrophe up there is still making me twitch.

There’s a jump pass joke in there somewhere, I’m sure.

It’s not really a joke though. He failed to finish with it and sent Urban Meyer into a downward spiral of health problems and soul searching that you’ve seen in the news over the last few weeks.

Nice catch, finally. Closed out the quarter without a punt, yay.

Wha?!?!

LOL, 43 came up pointing in the wrong direction for Texas on the recovery. Nice ricochet kick, but didn’t look intentional.

Why do you go for a big blitz when you are winning so easily playing straight up?
