I know dude.
Well, maybe not Connecticut. Come on!

Finally, been wanting Davis out ever since he got there…

It’ll be interesting. Both teams actually have pretty good defenses. Oregon’s has saved their ass in a couple games. Auburn has played several top 25 teams and held them to reasonable scores.
I expect very up tempo of course, but I’m not sure it’s a given the offenses will actually run wild.
I think Auburn’s defense has been pretty suspect this year - they’ve allowed a lot of points but saved themselves with a potent offense that goes by the name of Cam Newton. They redeemed themselves against S.C. last weekend, at least.
Like I said before: we’d better have a shootout or I will be disappointed. Defense in football is usually nice to watch, but that’s not what we’re here too see with these two teams.
They’re both second-half teams so we might have to sit through the first half until they get going.

Wannstedt forced out at Pitt today. A weird move if you ask me. Yeah, he never got Pitt in a BCS game, but as the article points out he arguably had Pitt at its best level since the early 1980s glory days. What I don’t get is who Pitt thinks they can get that will be better.
You have to understand that the AD at Pitt is both a giant drooling moron douche and a glory hound. If he doesn’t make a big splashy change, how is he going to manufacture any attention for himself?
I predict that Pitt football is headed for dark times.
If you look up Peter Principle in the Dictionary, you see Wanny’s photo.

I’m sad to see Wannstedt fail at Pitt. If he can’t succeed there as a head coach, he needs to go back to a DC job. He was very good at that.
Meanwhile, The Great Purge of 2010 is in full swing in Texas.
OC: Resigned.
OL coach: Retired.
DT coach: Retired. (This one actually makes me sad. Know how many stud DT’s this guy has put in the NFL?)
Director of Operations: Has been on Administrative Leave most of the season due to the whole Gloria Allred situation. (Read: She has a case.)
Strength & Conditioning coach: Rumored to be either taking a lesser-paying job at Colorado or reassigned; either way, will no longer hold that position.
WR Coach: Either HC at Kent State or WR coach at Colorado; either way, has told recruits and players that he won’t be back.
The current rumor is that Major Applewhite will be promoted into the OC position. This would be my preferred outcome. The only downside I can think to this is having to hear Musberger say “THE Major” over and over when he broadcasts our games. Another name in the running is Harsin from Boise State and Malzahn at Auburn.

Reports that Urban Meyer is walking away from Florida. After last year, nothing is official until there is a press conference.

ESPN says press conference will be at 6:00 PM tonight. So sad, he just couldn’t go on after Tebow left. His heart, it is broken.
I like the EDSBS angle: he wouldn’t get rid of godawful Steve Addazio, so he’s taking his ball and going home. I don’t think he’s really cut out to deal with crabby, demanding Gator fans.

Ya know, Tebow needs a new head coach in Denver…

Reports from the Florida chapter of 247sports.com is that he has already resigned. They’re just making it official at 6PM.
This is going to have a huge impact on the coaching search landscape.
Who d’ya reckon for the job? I’m hearing Chip Kelley and Dan Mullen. But mostly Chip.
More like, his ass, it is in a sling.
You need to take it easy on the message boards.
I was on the treadmill at the gym and thought ESPN was marking the anniversary of last year’s announcement. Weird wild stuff.

Kelly will stay at Oregon. If he thinks about going elsewhere, Phil Knight will give Kelly all his billions to stay.

A couple of sources are saying Dan Mullen could succeed Meyer since he’s the former Florida OC who now has some head coaching experience. This article favors Mullen but also looks at some other likely names that will at least be mentioned.
