45-35 Auburn

crap. I usually do push ups, but just ate a shit load of spaghetti. I didn’t quite make it through the 65 point Arkansas game. Maybe to 40-something.

The lay-off is a HUGE factor that you never know about until game time. I would much rather the game be played one or two weeks after the end of the season.

The Oregon cheerleaders are performing nicely already.

Seems to be. It’s weird to me Oregon is #1 in the coaches poll, but Auburn is favored by the odds makers.

Oh God, I forgot how much I hate crowd shots of Auburn games because of those stupid shakers.

God… the Duck feet… horrible.

Definitely did not expect a scoreless game so far.

Oh, Auburn was favored by 1.5 points or so. That’s not a heavy favorite. 3 points is typically what’s given to the away side when facing a perceptibly even home team.

Reasons to hate Oregon: Pac 10, ugliest uniforms on the planet
Reasons to hate Auburn: SEC, QB is a cheater and a thief.

Have to go with Oregon. And then, if I was a voter, tomorrow morning I would vote for TCU regardless. Both AU and Ore have looked pathetic so far.

First quarter = gay

Hurray, I can, at a minimum, say the Ducks were leading at one point :)

Oregon’s offense actually looked ok, just 2 really bad passes. On the other side though, the Ducks have stuffed Auburn.

Edit: Well, crap, Oregon’s defense was awful that drive.

Oregon-Auburn going about how I expected so far, the rust has come off of the offenses and they are making plays now, I thought it would be 10-10 at the half and all hell will break loose in the fourth quarter…what a fun couple of teams to watch.

4th down goaline stand yes!

Safety after goal line stand…YES!!

Kinda got mixed feelings 'bout the game. I like Chizik, but don’t really care for the SEC. Don’t care about the Ducks either way.

Someone pointed out an interesting statistic… BCS participants usually have great scoring defense; the winner always does.

Auburn’s scoring defense… is not great.

Interesting thing to ponder.

Big concern that Auburn get the ball 1st in the 2nd half. If they score another TD, that’s going to be a deep hole, even for Oregon.

Both teams are 4th quarter powerhouses, this is going to be great. Auburn is using superior athletes to offset Oregon’s advantage in scheme so far. I can’t wait for the second half.

Gah. Oregon’s uniforms are an assault on humanity.

They aren’t too bad tonight, the helmets are cool. The neon yellow socks…not so much.

Yep - it’s like seeing 22 penalty flags on the field at once.

This is the first time I’ve seen Oregon play (at least this season). They’re a fun team to watch on offense. Very quick.

Time for an adult beverage.

Time for my third.

The push-ups have been mercifully few.

Wait until late 3rd quarter. They stay fast and the defense starts losing a step and Oregon goes wild. Oregon’s been down at the half more than a few times and won by 20.

Though, Auburn is strong late too, so we’ll see if Oregon can come back or not.

I LOVE watching Oregon play jerri, if they weren’t playing an SEC team (except Florida) I would be cheering for them.

“quick” is an excellent description of them, they may not be faster than the opponent, but they wear them down over time by doing everything fast. Auburn has done a great job so far in not getting out-quicked, but there were moments in the first half where I saw some AU d-lineman gasping for breath and holding their hands on their hips.

I still think this is going to come down to Oregon’s excellent scheme vs Auburn’s marginally better talent. Auburn is just as fast on both sides of the ball, they just need to be coached well enough to be in the right place.
