College Football: The coaches don't want you to know who they voted for

So after this season (2009) the Coaches Poll will be going back to private voting. We won’t know who each of the voters voted for, whether they were honest or tried to boost their own team or conference, or anything that they don’t want to tell us. Considering the importance this poll plays in the national rankings that determine who plays for what bowl and the national championship, it’s an odd move.

The funny thing is that is isn’t the coaches who directly decided this, it was a committee that runs their association acting on a recommendation from a polling company. It’s also funny that the committee includes a bunch of non Division I coaches.

Until there’s a playoff, it doesn’t really matter how corrupt the system is or isn’t. There’s always going to be controversy about the third place team.
