[Combat Mission] Where to learn about field level tactics

well here is the more easy version.

Infantry should never move unless they have to.
Tanks should be still while shooting.

Rifles suck, get bigger guns…make sure you have lines of sight…open ONLY when you know you can do some damage.

Hope it helps

  • All problems can be solved with naval artillery! …That was a hysterical multiplayer game.

I agree. Naval artillery army setup like this. Scout 10 pts infantry armed with hayforks 30 pts Naval 350 mm gun x 3 = 2500 pts. Janster

Just reinstalled this on my laptop. Correction, the Churchill VIII has 152 mm front armor. It’s the Jadgtiger that has 250 mm.

Anyone played Theatre of War? Battlefront publishes it too (1c developed it). Reviews are mediocre, anyone have impressions?

Matt Peckham seemed to think it was buggy with horrible AI and unit control. Has it been patched?

Well, now Panzer Command: Kharkov is out, but I’m going to wait until some reviews start showing up. I’ve been burned by shoddy Matrix releases too many times.

These were just what I needed to help me get back into CM a while ago.

for piddly little cm details i wrote an faq for cmbo (how to take a sscreenshot, how to save the scenario briefing, why a .50cal machine gun can sometimes take out a hetzer tank…)

not many tactics i’m afraid, and i haven’t updated it in 5 years so some links will probably be dead.

and you can also try out my 7 turn scenario called “GO”

the cmbb campaign overlay has little news. i don’t even know if progress is being made.

If you have CC5 I suggest both veterans and noobs to try one awesome mod recently released.

I had a lot of fun with that one. Very challenging and with beautiful maps. Probably the best the game has to offer.

WW2 field tactics? Hmm. Go air doctrine, spam airborne and use strafing runs if the enemy counters with infantry. Use the fire up ability and run your guys around like spastic retards to avoid fire, dodge grenades, and make it impossible for the enemy to spot your snipers.

Wait, I’m just thinking of Company of Heroes.

My bad.
