This thread is useless without Rob Merritts list:

Weird list, isn’t it – any comic-derived movie. American Splendor and Ghost World are #2 and #3. I like both movies a lot, it’s just funny to have them sandwiched between Spiderman and Spiderman 2.
Don’t have many complaints from what I saw of the list – Just glad to see Batman Begins is in the top ten.
(I’m assuming Incredibles didn’t qualify is a comic movie? At least I didn’t see it in the top 25.)
Here is the list for those that don’t want to click through it. From worst to best:

The Incredibles isn’t based on a comic, it’s a Pixar original IP.
It’s interesting that stuff like Akira, Ghost In The Shell, 300, V for Vendetta, From Hell or even Sin City got topped by movies like Xmen2, the Spiderman movies and omgz, MIB. Also, they somehow forgot that Metropolis(2002, anime) is a remake of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis from 1927(If they wanted to list one of them it should be this one).
According to the site:
No, not the silent Fritz Lang classic – and not the Freddie Mercury-assisted remake, either. This is an animated “Metropolis,” adapted from Osamu Tezuka’s manga – which was itself inspired by the poster for Lang’s “Metropolis.”
Interesting list overall. I suppose Superman II is a little dated, but it really should be ahead of Superman Returns.
I agree with this man.
Goddamn! Ghost World at #3?! That is AWESOME.
Go, Little Enid, Go!
Surprisingly reasonable list. The only thing that really stands out to me is Men in Black’s high placement, especially above Batman Begins.
I had no idea a lot of those were based on comic books.
I am unhappy with X-Men 1’s relatively poor finishing. I certainly liked it more than Spiderman 2, but alas.
Older stuff like Akira and GitS is going to be off anyway- there just isn’t the same amount of reviews out there for stuff before the internet hit big.
Is Bordello of Blood really that much better than Daemon Knight? I absolutely love Daemon Knight.
Seems like they forgot the Nick Fury movie starring Hasselhoff, but that was straight to DVD.
H.
Jesus Christ! #6 - A History of Violence?!?!
That movie was so unbelievably terrible. For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone thinks it’s any good. The acting was so piss poor that several scenes actually made me laugh. Laugh. It’s the most overrated movie that I know of. I hate it, and I hate anyone who likes it. It’s so bad. Ugh.
Gosh Adam, I never had anything against you. Please don’t hate me.
Perhaps I’ve overreacted.
American Splendor as #2. A History of Violence. Over the Hedge. Ghost World. Rotten Tomatoes is the worst site at making “Top” lists, ever.
