The Annie’s Boobs joke was nice considering Animal Doctor whatever’s cancellation. Not too shabby!
I am hearing bizarro world rumors that this is actually a good thing for Community. Their new sitcoms have all tanked so bad that they are going to have some major holes coming up in their line up. They may have delayed the Community premier so they can give it the 30 Rock slot on Thursday nights, back by a major ad campaign.

I dunno if an ad campaign will help. Harmon burnt his ships in his last season – any undecided voter who was watching that will probably not give the show another shot.

I would rather it show up later as part of a solid block of shows rather than show up now on Fridays, where TV shows go to die.

Well, friday nights are generally less good for network TV ratings, so community was basically sent there to die. Now, it may actually get put on thurs/wed night and have a real shot at getting some viewers.

Hasn’t this already been acknowledged as Community’s last season anyway? I’m sure it is, short of a miracle, anyway.

I had always heard that Chase was difficult to work with, but the stories coming out of Community are absolutely ridiculous in their level of dickishness. Throwing someone like Harmon into the mix, I’m surprised it didn’t implode after the first few episodes. That’s two personalities that sound like they’d never be able to work together. While I found Harmon’s behavior towards the end of the show to be a bit childish, I still think Chase is just a major a#@hole…and I’m a fan of his work, for cryin’ out loud.

While I don’t doubt Chase has been disruptive and a dick on set, this seems like a situation where context makes it not quite so bad.Apparently he’s been upset for a while that Pierce has been getting gradually more and more racist, and was yelling at the writers about how he was expecting any day now to see a script where he’d be calling Shirley or Troy the N word.
I think he was stupid to put it that way, but he wasn’t literally using it as a slur against anyone, and he wasn’t arguing with either of his black costars at the time.

While it’s understandable that Pierce character’s place in the show is to create conflict, the way that conflict is created could be finessed a bit. Cluelessness versus intent, etc.
I actually don’t blame Chase for objecting to a direction that he disagrees with creatively and could have consequenses outside the show for him.
It seems to me that they moved his character to be a bit more sympathetic over time.
That aside, I really can’t think of Chevy Chase in anything better or more funny, apart from SNL. It’s also nice to see him doing something other than his boorish every-man shtick. The show certainly elevated my opinion of him as a comedic actor. I don’t really understand why he acts like his character and the show isn’t funny. Different strokes, I guess.

Community: Lingerie Special
Production news that’s spoilerish
Chevy Chase is out. They’ve already filmed most of the upcoming season, but he won’t be around for the final 1-2 episodes.
I guess the question is why wasn’t he out a long time ago. The dude has great comedic timing and delivery, but it sounds like everyone else on the show hates him, and it’s not like he has anything resembling “star power” with the show’s audience.
Yay, Chevy finally ruined the show! He must be so proud.
I may be mistaken, but wasn’t this supposed to be the final season anyway?
No. This was not a planned finale season.
