It’s a shame, because he was used so well (and sparingly) in season 1.

I suppose it’s possible they were making fun of musical episodes but they did a damn poor job of it. I felt that way about the season premiere too. It seemed like Abed’s happy place was supposed to be making fun of how stupid traditional three camera sitcoms can be, but all they did was write a really stupid three camera sitcom that wasn’t the slightest bit funny and didn’t have an ounce of satirical bite to it. What’s the point? At least the tag was funny and pointed to what the episode could have been. Abandoning the therapy angle and making the puppet episode entirely puppets might have saved it.

At least they seem to have abandoned that odd and poorly written troy and britta love connection. And by abandoned I mean literally just dropped it without any explanation whatsoever.

This puppet episode mostly missed the mark. And the characters seem extra cartoony of late. Shirley was excessively churchy, and not in a humorous way. Troy an arsonist? Annie giving in to a fetishist? What?! It all just feels like fan fic ripped off the internet now.

And now, Alison Brie imitates popular Internet memes.

If Allison Brie was my overly attached girlfriend I could die happy…

Tonight’s hostage episode, half way through, might be my favorite episode of the season so far.

Yeah, McDowell was really good. Also liked the other timeline ending. Thumbs up.

“I copied and pasted the lyrics to War, What is it Good For…”
“Good God!”

Loved the episode, my favorite or second favorite of the season. But what the hell; how can they be so spot on with certain episodes but fail so miserably on others.

Weird - I really did not like this episode much at all except for the very end.

haha thats kind of funny. I’ve noticed, even among Community fans, there is hardly ever a consensus about which episodes are the best (save for fan faves like the paintball ones). I wonder why that is. For this season it can probably be guessed that things are a little off because Dan Harmon is gone.

Another great episode in a season full of great episodes. I do hope the season ends well, since it’s likely to be the series end.

For me, it feels ‘off’ enough that I’ve stopped watching. I’m afraid the musical episode was the last straw :(

Kedaha, give this episode a shot. One last chance. I know how you feel about this season, but I really do think this episode was a return to form. Who knows if it will stay that way, because it looked like it was one of the ones they recorded at the end of their run without Chase, but it was good.

I also think this episode had some of the old cleverness, mostly thanks to McDowell.

This was probably my favorite episode oh the season. Good treatment of the characters, well paced jokes, just the right amount of saccharine togetherness. Some callbacks to earlier episodes, but not a slavish devotion.

Are we still getting these out of order? Seems like they might be having Troy and Britta break up, but I can’t tell, since their relationship is such a non - factor in the show in general.

I thought this one of the weakest of the season. While the concept was very Community like, the execution just wasn’t there. Very few, weak jokes.

Completely tasteless, I know…but I couldn’t resist putting up a link to this animated gif of Alison Brie clowning around in a decidedly UnAnny manner. Just don’t watch it at work as it’s VERY NSFW:

As much as I love that, it’s the reason I had to tell my daughter “No.” to looking up the season three bloopers, which felt QUITE a bit more adult than the season one and two bloopers. :)
